Who are these players? You have a 10% chance of finding a player in his 20's who can step right in and fill an NBA role for the league minimum vs. having a closer to 80% chance with an established NBA veteran. Why? Because 90% of those types players are locked up on NBA rosters because they are in the highest demand. I think the Knicks need youth, but they also need guys to step in and play next year. They have guys on the summer league roster and will bring in guys in camp to fight out the veterans, but they still need some useful veterans to fill out the roster.

There are players under 30yrs of age who can do the same...

please, who are they?

I'd like to add a Brandon wright, Hansborough, Elliott Williams, but I think they are much more likely to sign for more than the veteran min than Brand, Pietrus, Childress. To some degree a guy like Brand is also just better than Hansborough, even though I like both guys.

Petey will officially.... "Teach Toney How To Dougie"

I think we are looking for defenders who can hit the 3. Care to revise?

No I don't care to because here's what we're trying to do....

http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/knicks/...

We're all over the F'N map

from Aaron Brooks to Louis Admuson/Brandan Wright(which would qualify for my criteria although not enamored with LA) to Dalembert/Wilcox/Barron etc etc...

Which doesn't quite match up with what you think we're looking for besides Brooks and it's only half arse since he is by no means a defender, but can hit the 3.

Luc Richard was traded..... with 2yrs $9.5mil left on his deal for a 2016, 2018 2nd round pick and to the Kings at that....

Which is in the ball park of trading Nash as I suggested on a 1yr deal 9.5mil for 2 2nd round picks

it's not in the same ballpark. 2 years at about $4.4M per for a player who can still log minutes versus a player who would be 41 and has a $10M price tag and is oft injured. Big difference.

First of all saying "oft injured" is a grossly inaccurate statement. The only thing you have valid is the fact he'll be 40

Nash's last season was the only year in which he missed as many games, in his whole career.

Don't look now but he's been healthier than Carmelo yr for yr since he entered the league and healthier than Luc Richard past 2 seasons. Nash is a better player than Luc too, even today full strength. Therefore same ball park

perhaps oft injured wrong way to say it: back problems on an old guy and now calf. Not good signs. Same with Billups and why LAC is avoiding him.

Macs made an offer to Monta as well. Cuban gone guard crazy.

Murrow was one of the young players I was hoping we could give a look at. Kid signed a 2yr vet min deal with Pelicans? Why not come here for that we won 54gms how many gms did the Pelicans win?

Morrow = novak. One dimensional. Once had Novak's contract, now has a min deal.

Source has confirmed Chris Andersen returning to the Heat. He will be re-signing with them tomorrow.

How much will he get?

If Grunny would have did his job correctly Novak would have had close to a minny deal and still be here, instead of as close to #1 pick draft bust in Bargs.
