They must have another deal in place and need that cap space.

The David West signing puts them right around the 2013-14 NBA salary cap of $58.5 million.
So how can they afford Copeland?
San Antonio is finalizing a five year, $45 million contract extension for center Tiago Splitter, league sources tell Y! Sports.

I guess the Blazers reported interest drove up the price to keep him.

Maybe if they can find someone to absorb Granger's contract.
Depends what their stance is on staying under the salary cap.

Is it just me, or does that seem like an absurd contract for an okay role player???

They were over the cap with cap holds so they'll use their remaining exceptions to sign him...if they want him.

Great signing. I think Chase would have blown up in HOuston If they didn't get Parsons.

The value of a young big man is almost always sky high if hes good. In terms of production versus minutes hes a good player.
Clippers, Bucks and Phoenix have reached agreement on a three-team deal, Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler will go to the Suns, Jared Dudley and JJ Redick to the Clippers and 2 2nd-round picks to Bucks, sources tell Y

I was getting ready to post this...
So the Bucks got 2 2nd round picks for a player they'd rather not sign, Clippers got deeper, Sheesh. I like the trade for everyone.
Now when fans say hiring a coach because players want to play for them....I think the definition of that is Doc Rivers.
Let me be first to say this because someone will....But But But But....what will Phx do with Dragic and Bledsoe. Here we are scrambling for point guards and Phx has 2 studs relatively on decent deals.

Wow. Bledsoe, Redick, and Dudley have been in a lot of Knick rumors.

That's all they turned out to be, that and small talk...Vapors...
The closest was Shumpert for Dudley and possible picks(probably could have got 2 2nd rounders. I would have taken that. Because maybe we could have flipped those for an additional pick in this past draft or moved up to pick someone besides T.J.
In the sign and trade scenario, Redick will get a four year, $27 million deal with the Clippers, sources tell Y! Sports.
It includes an trade kicker

I thought Sterling was a cheap owner folks?

Milwaukee got jobbed. Basically 2 2nd rounders for Tobias Harris. I wonder if they will go after JR Smith?
Milwaukee trade Tobias Harris for Reddick.
