I just don't think that roster is that good, maybe individually and name wise, but not as a whole.
It's going to take some major major sacrificing, and im telling you, that team will not mesh well..
there is no speed any where in that rotation, 2 big man that primarily shoot jumper, no perimeter shooting on your bench..further more, star pg rearly ever turn out to be star coaches (see thomas Magic).. While kidd may have a great basket ball mind, and can see plays others can't, he plays off of instincs

Forgot about Plumlee. I have only watched a limited summer league clips but he has looked great.

i included Plumlee. agree, think he was a nice pick up. but will he play over KG, Brook, Blatche, or Evans? hard to get minutes in that front court.

every guy in the starting 5 can score and hit a jumper. in other words, no double teaming or help -- rotations will have to be crisp. if they control the pace they are going to be very tough to beat.
Like I said Nets owner wants NYC and Kidd wanted to beat NY TOO. He learned what Woody likes to do 1st hand and knows how he thinks. Nets owner is shrewd , cunning & clever , he infiltrated the enemies camp and now wants to run a coup in NYC CALLED "THE TAKEOVER"
Owners hate Dolan and those that play in the Worlds most Famous Arena.

I agree on both counts, good move to bring in Frank as an asst, someone Kidd trusts who won't undermine him.

agree - Frank could be the most IMPORTANT acquisition they made all year. his helping Kidd will be huge as Kidd figures out what he's doing.

I think they hve some big question marks too- JJ, Deron, KG, Pierce, they're all used to being the focl points- can they share the ball and adjust to being more support/role players? Add in Lopez,AK47 and Blatch and things look kind of crowded. Also age will play a role too. If they can get it together, they do look lethal- hopefully they can't, it's a big 'if'.
I don't think they'll win a championship, but they do have enough to beat us (also JKidd knowing everything about us will be a real pain). We'll need to dig deep- looking forward to the challenge...
Woodson is a mental midget compared to many coaches, especially Lawrence Frank. Very good X's and O's coach.
Dude has made over 100mil in his career and walked away from a 10mm payday in Minn thinking he was going to get a longer term deal.
It reeks of "Me puts 7mil gold in your Dacha and we good, no?" but this is a big time move for them.
On paper they are stacked. For him to get AK47 will actually cost not 3.1mm as per his contract but 15mm with taxes!
And Dolan was worried about Lin's contract with taxes?
Prokhorv is doing something nobody thought could be done and thats paying taxes at an insane rate!
Money DOES buy happiness. Except in the Knicks case

The russian made a claim to win a chip in 5 years when he bought the team. Two years left and he is not spewing nonsense!
I wonder what stern and the other owners really think? He insane or all in?
I didn't realize he was an FA. The Nets have had an outstanding off-season.
AK47 and KG will be very tough together on DEFENSE *both 1v1 and TEAM* with their combination of LENGTH, SIZE, DEFENSIVE EFFORT/INTENSITY, and BB IQ with the rest of the team
They were both once DPOY type of players with all round skills with almost triple doubles type of talents
Then again so was Camby and Chandler
I truly believe Camby still has the ability to play in high level and is trying to somehow get out of Toronto and go to Heat or a contender at the vet min to stick it to us
He was simply is Woodson's doghouse and did not give him any opportunity to take minutes away from Chandler and Kmart

the blueprint...
this is basically how it's done. no tanking. no high draft picks. owner told his gm to spend and instead of pairing marbury + francis or randolph + curry, he went out and got championship pedigree players.
this is what isiah wanted to do and what dolan has wanted since 2001...and the nets did it in 2 short years.
it's pretty darn impressive. miami should be really scared right now. they can send a wave of people - i'm not sure lebron's greatness is great enough to carry wade + bosh past that roster.
great pick up for them. they needed a wing defender and know they have one you can also play the 4 in small ball line ups. I would consider starting him over Paul but that's unlikely.

I agree but I don't see KG guarding pfs anymore. I wonder how they will work that out.

He doesn't have to. There are only a couple of teams that have both a C and a PF that have to be paid attention to defensively. For those teams that don't KG will guard the better offensive player and Lopez will guard the worse one.

Exactly even if the Nyets don't win it all. As a Knicks fan all I ask for is a chance and as the 5th seed with absolutely no assets we don't have a chance until at least 2015-16 when Melo is older and Tyson is old and probably gone
