wow omg,

no one, NO ONE, said bargs is going to put us over the top and make us a championship team,l

we are not contending for a championship for at least another 30 years,

bargs does improve this team, and this is why i am happy about the trade

A GM has to continue to improve his team regardless of whether that ends up guaranteeing a title team. From year to year you don't know what is going to happen with the other teams in the league. Injury or just plain failure is always a possibility. Injury surely has had an impact on the Bulls for 2 years of playoff runs now. So you just have to keep building your team regardless of what anyone might think about the teams potential.

There was a LARGE contingent of media and fans that were sure that the Nets were better than the Knicks. So you have to play it out to the end to really know. AB is not Lebron so no he can't be a lock to push the Knicks over the top. But you still have to keep making the team better and IMO AB makes the team better in addition to other things. This team still isn't complete yet so there's still room for improvement around the edges.

However it is up to Coach Woodson, his staff, and development coaches to develop
chemistry, confidence, and run a philosphy that utilizes the team/players to the best of their abilities...

I just dont trust Woodson, especially with his rotations, lack of creativeness, and inability to demand more of a TEAM concept, at least not without a highly skilled assistance coach

that is way above their pay grade. this is not going to be a feel-good story. you might as well ask them to spin straw into gold.

Good read. This is something I believed in never liked being eigth seed or seventh.

Playing for the Raptors will cause you to dog it a little and not play as hard when you realize the franchise isn't trying to compete.
As much fire Vince Carter had in Toronto he eventually gave up on them too. As soon as he left he regained what he showed in the beginning, even in Dallas at the end of his career he's playing with fire.
Barganni will have our announcer pronouncing his name like he use to do Gallup....GALLLL A NARIIIIII

Not a bad article praising how Morey put the Rockets in position to get Howard but I don't see how that contradicts what Nix said about a gm's job being to continue to improve his team. Grunwald came into a situation where he had a huge boat anchor on his cap and most of the young players and future picks had already been sacrificed by previous gms. Each gm has to be resourceful in the situation they are in. Grunwald and Morey have the same titles but the franchises they run were in very different places and that impacted how they have to approach their jobs.

Nets were supposed to be better last year. Looked better on paper and had less injuries. Woodson's boys overcame a ton of injuries and Woodson and his coaches had to integrate more new players into his starting lineup and rotation. Woodson started the year with three new players in his starting five, won the atlantic and got the second seed in the east. Nets added one new starter. Not sold on the Nets. Their moves are impressive but I still think the Knicks get the Atlantic.

bargnani is basically the anti-gallinari. there is zero overlap in their games. once the garden booing starts this soft, inefficient, non-defending, selfish, overpaid, underachieving thief he will fold like a beach chair. you do realize he has absolutely no playoff mojo, right? strictly a regular-season phony just like jr.

the only thing good about this acquisition is that he will serve as the perfect scapegoat for people to turn their scorn towards, and in so doing it will cushion carmelo anthony from well-earned criticism for being basically the same type of player.

Doesn't Bargs have better playoff numbers than Gallo?

You're going on about AB being soft, inefficient etc. but you don't know how he's gonna play here on the Knicks. This isn't a losing team. This team had good success last year even tho they didn't reach their goal of the ECF's. This team has Melo and JR and a bunch of other capable scorers that have to be paid attention to. Teams will simply not be able to focus all their attention on AB on this team. Also AB will have a positive effect on the rest of the players on the Knicks as well, since he is also someone that you can't just leave open and you have to give help to stop him. That will be hard to do with the other scorers we have on this team. That is the reason you add a player like AB.

Hate on AB as a player all you want, but this team needed another scorer and he can provide that. In the Playoffs this team had a horrid offensive performance but they had good defensive performances for the most part. What this team sorely needed was more scorers. We had too many players who couldn't or wouldn't make a shot.

Andrea Bargnani was, is and never will be characterized as a post player in the game of basketball. This topic is a joke. Raptor fans are dying laughing at the insinuation that a soft, lazy, low-percentage shooting 7 footer like Bargnani is a post player. Tyson Chandler is more of a post player than this guy.

talk about polishing a turd:

leaving aside defending and looked at in a vacuum-- and "statically"-- it seems like an acceptable addition.

but looked at in a team context and dynamically it is simply an awful subtraction by addition.

we needed a glue guy like kirilenko.

After watching footage i dunno how you can say that. Hes not Shaq but he's not Novak either.

I mean no need to even argue just look at the tape

Ball don't Lie!

He's a perimeter player with some post game, like a poor man's Dirk.

VERY WELL SAID... this acquisition benefits amare and chandler the most, now they have a new scapegoat in town.. Bargs will get killed here as soon as things go wrong... sad, but true...

the same injury woes that will most likely plague us this year? unless you think amare is completely healthy, that was our biggest injury last year.. amare did play some last year, those teams didn't have rose and granger at all..

Its funny because during the sl broadcast Clyde chose Gallo as the player he thought had a similar game to Bargs but said Gallo was a better ball handler.
