Let's sign him now!

franco12 @ 7/14/2013 5:28 PM
I'm big into getting some youth and avoiding knuckle-heads - but if he wants to come here, you take him.

No idea if there are enough minutes for everyone if healthy, but great insurance...

nixluva @ 7/14/2013 5:32 PM
And so it begins! Having watched Metta last year I think he would be a very good addition. He's still able to play effectively even tho he's a bit slower now. He still has good defensive instincts and he's strong as an Ox. I like the idea of adding a player who comes from a winning program and understands what it takes. If they sign him I think it will be good move. There's always the chance he'll have one of his crazy moments, but I think it's worth the risk.
sealy @ 7/14/2013 5:39 PM
Yes! Man I really want this to happen.

Insert him into the starting 3. He and Melo can basically switch off anyway b/w 3 and 4.

He is a head case but I think he would be useful. He would actually blend well with Melo because he doesn't need shots and he can start at the other forward spot.

Lets Go!

I want him. He might be nuts but he's a damn good 2-way player. Always has been. If they're serious about a championship, this guy brings us a step closer. Take the chance. And don't get cheap on this -- come strong with our best offer: offer Artest the rest of the mini-ML ($1.7m).

They won't do it like this, but this is how I might piece together the rest:

5 - Chandler
4 - Bargnani
3 - Melo
2 - Shumpert
1 - Felton
---------------
5 - Barron
4 - Stoudemire
3 - MWP
2 - Smith
1 - Brooks
---------------
Hardaway Jr.
Leslie
Toure Murry
Tim Abromaitis
Jamelle Hagins or Jeremy Tyler

knicks are never healthy and thats a good thing, cause woodson has no clue on how to juggling a full roster, he's best when his roster set at 9..

signing him seems like your just signing the best available FA and not really full filling the teams other pressing needs

I can here it know!!

Off Season Moves:

"Knicks needed to find a pg with some speed and a big man who can rebound and back up chandler, but they decided to pick up 2 SF and drafted a sg and addressing none of there needs"

GRADE D

I hope we sign him, but I did read something on ESPN that he wants to play in China. There is a chance that he won't be signing with any NBA team. I hope it was just a smokescreen.

Dunno, I don't like the way Woodson is beholden to veterans. I still am a bit annoyed at Woodson's insistence on playing Kidd against the Pacers despite the fact that Kidd was clearly being outplayed by Prigg. The same goes for Woodson's failure to utilize Copeland consistently... Artest would possibly be another vet that Woodson plays solely because he is a vet rather than actual on court contributions.

Woodson had to play Kidd his only alternative was to play Copeland so that we could score more, go figure.

It could be that way with Ron but I think he has a bit more in the tank. I agree about Prigs. Whenever he was on the court good things happened. Kidd was really done physically by the end of the season.

As long as Metta doesn't complain about touches or PT, then I wouldn't mind penciling him in at SF. The less distractions next season the better. Move Shump to the 2 and we have a nice starting lineup.
Markji @ 7/15/2013 7:30 AM
MWP is our counter move to the Nyets getting AK47. He will neutralize AK47.
