We outbid ourselves again for a 37 year old, we just don't learn from our mistakes

While Nate has the ability to penetrate through the holes of 3+ guys and finish
Talent over leadership or leadership over talent?
I am sorry, at some point you need talent if you want to advance in the play offs
Pablo and/or Raymond Felton have to be able to defend their positions if we have any shot in advancing, especially vs top tier PG's, I just don't see it happening with Prigs
I rather have Nate he could at least stay in front of his man, limiting some of our opponents options

Nate still has beef with NYK, Dolan, JR and MELO with the "fight"
He know's if he signs a deal with NYK, there is a good chance that he will be the next trading chip, especially at what we can offer him, and he just doesn't want to bring the ball up to pass it to one player

With a cost efficient Nate, I would not be surprised if Denver will test what Lawson can get them and look to acquire assets again

Denver built their team around Lawson and running. I think they have two guys that can both push the pace and run teams out of the building. Not sure what their plan was this offseason though. Maybe they are going in a different direction.

I have no idea what the Knicks are doing. I don't think they know either. We have a coach that would rather be fired then play a rookie. Woody is stubborn and I believe he won't last through next season. We will be lucky to win 45 games and make the playoffs. If Amare goes down again which he will we are done. Melo will not be able to shoot us to wins. Look the Nets starting line up have all 5 great shooters. We only have one and thats Melo. Melo may get his 40 but we will get the loss.

Well the team had the mmle to work with, JR's early bird rights, a 1st round pick and league mini contracts. Not sure what was expected to happen with no cap space and 22 mil committed to a guy that can't play. In regards to Woodson getting fired and a 45 win season, prior to last year it had been 12 years since the Knicks won 45+ games. I don't think Woodson is going anywhere. I also get a bit tired of the Woodson won't play rookies. Cope was a 29 year old journey man that finally made it to the nba. He got the start in game 1 of the first round of the playoffs and looked shook. That might make a coach think twice about his minutes. For all the Woody lost the Pacers series because rookie league mini super cope was going to beat the Pacers arguments, there are the box scores for the celts series where Cope couldn't score a point. I have no ill will for Cope. But I think prioritizing the point guard position was the right thing to do for the Knicks. Shawne Williams had very similar role and numbers to Cope and moved on. Somehow Cope has become this year's Lin. At least one poster has made the accusation that Melo doesn't want to share the ball with Cope. Really? Not sure how that happened or why. Cope may not get a lot of minutes in Indy. The guy is on a second unit with Watson, Stephenson, Mahini, and Hill. Watson, Stephenson and Mahini are going to get major minutes.
nixluva @ 7/23/2013 1:31 AM
UGH!!! This is not about Cope. The thing is we had to bring back Prigs who contributed to WAY more wins and more winning BB than Cope. Loved what Cope gave us, but this team would still have issues with the Pacers even if he played more. There was no guarantee he would win. I happen to believe Cope should've been used more in the Celtic series too, but that has nothing to do with prioritizing signing your PG who helped the team win a lot towards the end of the season.

The idea that we have to be worried about what we get from STAT is also ridiculous. Anything STAT gives us is a plus at this point. The team won without him just fine. Now they have the plan to limit STAT's minutes and that makes sense. I'm betting he makes it thru the season and helps in the playoffs.

Woody is not going anywhere IMO. This is a deep and talented team. This is a team that is coming into the season with chemistry, continuity and playoff experience together. To think that kind of team won't be able to have a strong season and playoff run is ludicrous. Woody is likely going to win a ton of regular season games again and they'll try again to get to the ECF's. I think this team will have a chance to get to the ECF's despite what many in the media think.

Yes, Sir Charles, of course you're going to be right this year...here's a dollar for sharing your opinions...

I have no idea why people are once again drooling over the PaperNyets. They have five great shooters; last time anyone checked, there's only one ball, remember? The Nyets were better than us with just Deron, then they were better than us with Deron and JJ and Bropez and Krumphries and WonderBlatche, and now there better than us with the Celticks jettisoned old garbage that couldn't get them past us last season. This new juggernaut should really gel quickly, can't you just see that happening? The Russian is good at selling pills. And people are even swallowing them without 50 Win, Division Title Kool Aid.

Nate over Prigs? Cope over Prigs? Pablo can run a team. Nate can make a mean workout vid and play for 5 teams in 4 years. Cope got his money before he hit 30, spending half the season in Woody's doghouse because he couldn't get it through his head that coach isn't giving you time if you're only exerting yourself on O. Put it this way, add Nate or Cope to the Dallas chip team instead of JKidd and are you getting to the promised land? Obviously not the same pedigree, but Prigs has become our JKidd, like it or not.

Denver built their team around Lawson and running. I think they have two guys that can both push the pace and run teams out of the building. Not sure what their plan was this offseason though. Maybe they are going in a different direction.

Denver sure has surplus of guards now: Lawson, Miller, Evan Fournier, Erick Green, Foye and now Nate.

Maybe Andre Miller begins to get shoppped right around the deadline? Wonder what it would take.

Prigs is much more steady and a better facilitator and provides a settling veteran presence. Nate is great - but very streaky.

N8 would not have given us what we need MOST from the point spot. We saw how the offense stagnates without a TRUE facilitator out there. N8 is a very good scorer but, we need other thing more than we need a 5'8 scorer.

Also a surplus of PF's- Faried, then they traded for Arthur, then they signed JJ Hickson. No idea why. Not sure if Miller has trade value at this point- on the decline, can't shoot and making $6mil per season, which judging by the amounts backup PGs got paid this offseason, is pretty overpaid.

Who know's what their plan is. Once they've signed Mosgov, they'll be capped out even more for a fair few years to come, while being mediocre at best- the worst thing to be in the nba.

1) denver is not looking to win a championship, there looking to be an exciting team that wins 50 games and a 1st round exit, how else do you explain such a unbalance roster.

2)woody will coach this team to 50+ wins, but he will be fired for his playoff failures, its either a trip to (at least) the ECF or kick rocks..

3)While nate would have been a better option the prigs (as far as athleticism and pace) his height is a big reason he's a journey man, and he still plays in over drive more then he should, and that wont work with a lot of scorers already on the team...

Nateless and can't "Cope" there by doomed.

Woody don't play utes but plays 35 year old rookis over 29 year old Rookies!

We wuz old last year!

Woody was told to win, woody don't develop!

Nate had some sick games in the playoffs, but we're talking about Nate. The guy is a 5'8" JR Smith. If you can't take 6'5" Smith than why would you be clamoring for Nate?
fishmike @ 7/24/2013 8:42 AM
Nate is fun but not the right mix for this group

well other than the flagrant that got him suspended, what cray stuff has smith really done as a Knick? Thinking every shot is a good one may equate a poor basketball IQ but, other than that, I don't really remember Smith doing anything too batty.

how about nightlife during the playoffs instead of focussing on his work?
