A friend of mine knows the Knicks' orthopedist and he told him not count on Amare anything this season or future seasons for that matter.
hope you can get scoops all year. That makes sense with amare.
Im gonna start seeing him for my knee issues so I'll be pretty close to the source on that one. He also had a lot of good things to say about Bargs.

Whatever happened to confidentiality?! His doc shouldn't be discussing anything with your friend. Don't take this the wrong way, but I hope your friend is sociopathic liar!
Unfortunately, I think the Bargs trade and talk of Amar'e being limited to less than 20mins AND being banned from any basketball activities all summer, signals what's up. Arthritics knees don't suddenly regenerate with rest as Allan Houston demonstrated...
LOL my friend is a huge Amare fan and he kept asking the doctor about him while adding how much of a fan he is in there. I guess the doctor felt the need to let him down easy.

15-20 pounds lighter?
Damn
Sounds great. So did Eddy Curry losing 30 pounds one summer. And Q Rich too. And Amare gaining 20 lbs of muscle. And Jeffries working on his jumpshot. And...
What 15lbs is he talking about?
Please tell me that's an old photo. He looks more like an assistan coach there than a current player
At least he doesn't look like this anymore:

Guess it's an improvement:

That is a new one. Taken by the NY Post at the St Johns BBall camp.
lol that's a good one Chuck
I guess compared to that one he is in better shape than he will ever be. Don't think he will ever be the speedy day Felton from UNC. Regardless his floor leadership and court vision and defense sucks
What took him so long? He knew he was out of shape, this is the type of BS players Knicks get. Not fully dedicated to their careers.
If Woody is truly analyzes the PG spot honestly then Beno will be the starter from day one. Felton is just not that good.

If Woody is truly analyzes the PG spot honestly then he will make his decision during camp as opposed to just awarding it to someone who hasn't earned it. Nothing should be awarded based on "Past" production.

he was in shape and working hard last summer. Remember his summer league interview where he looked great and said he was motivated by all the criticism. I think he said in that interview that he had just started lifting weights

Great point. I am just done with Ray Ray. Hopefully, Woody starts all 3 PGs in same level and judges from current production.
Everyone in this forum except for a hand full need to lose 15lbs...
I started my journey this week....like I said I gained 10lbs eating like a Savage the last 2 months. I'm trying to get down to 175 by thanksgiving.

Ha, I could probably do with ADDING 15 lbs- I'm 6ft 1 and weigh in at 154 lbs- starting to look like Christian Bale in the Machinist!

I actually lost 15 lbs and at 235 right now. But then again I am not a pro basketball player.

hibbert is getting praised all over the place because he worked out with duncan. Felton has a camp for kids reveals he has changed his diet and lost 15lbs working out and he gets trashed on a fan board for his team?
Pure Hate

Felton is an easy target for some because he does not conform to the romantic image of an athletic idol. Felton will never be described as handsome, photogenic or someone "who could marry my daughter."
It's not about his floor leadership, court vision or defense because his skillet is on par with the savior he replaced. It's purely image and superficial grading on a resentful curve.
Raymond Felton is from Latta, South Carolina. There is nothing sympathetic or newsworthy about that.
Just another dude with an ugly game, right?
I love Ray, man...When he's on, he's as good and exciting a PG as you'll find in this league--Chris Paul, D-Will, you name it...For me it's two things with Ray---one might be the weight, yeah, but more importantly, the 2nd is maintaining the threat level throughout a particular game and then throughout an entire season. That's what CP3, D-Will, TP and the better PGs around the league do. Those guy's are there every sec. of every game. For me, Ray can't slack off -- getting the weight down is great -- it'll help him...Now he's talking about being more vocal, more of a leader and he's always talking about playing with a chip on his shoulder. He's saying the right things -- now he's gotta do it! Peddle to the metal!! MSG network just replayed the game we won in SA last year. Ray was GREAT that game!! Took on the challenge of playing against TP in his gym where he outplayed him and we got a huge W. Then there was the game in Miami where he went off and we grabbed another big road win...The talent's there, he just needs to bring it all the time now and play with more of a no holds barred/go hard or go home attitude. He tends to play too passive and disappear too often. I'd like to see ray develop more of a killer attitude out there.

hate? nope
felton's desire to lose 15 pounds is based on his OWN realization that he has not devoted himself to being in supreme shape. of all the positions on the floor that require superior fitness, the point guard position requires the highest degree of fitness.
the reason is that decision-making and court vision are severely impaired when you are sucking wind and what we see much of the time is in fact him sucking wind. defense? that is the first thing to get sacrificed.
coach wooden put conditioning as paramount, and everything else follows from that.
to be out of shape or not in tip-top shape when you are being paid millions is inexcusable.
we may never know how good a decision-maker felton is or how well he sees the floor until he is in fact in supreme shape.
as others have alluded to, he can't afford to disappear during games.

Yep, you know the score by now- a player is over weight "oh fatty, they're a disgrace etc etc", player changes their diet, works hard all summer and loses weight "oh they're still fat, they should have done that all along, it's their job, etc etc". Best fans in the world!
