He earned the right from the SL to make the pre season team with the ability to make the club. Hes a solid defensive player who has offensive explosion and can play 4-5 at 6-10. We dont have enough big players right now--Im not overly focused on the need for an additional 7 footer since we have Bargs Martin Tyler and Chandler. But we could use another mobile athletic big who can get up and down block some shots rebound and score. I think Jennings can do that--and he played as well as anyone per minute ion the SL for us.
I Agree 100% - what stood out for me was that he played within the summer league team system - good defense, blocks, etc... That's exactly the role we would want him to play. Unlike other summer league players, he didn't seem to focus on scoring or making highlights to get signed. Why not bring him to camp?

You earn it--you should get it. We have shaky PFs as is health wise.
He's tall, long, he shot the ball surprisingly well and he competed hard. I say bring in him, Whiteside, and Earl Barron all for training camp competition. I'd even reach out to 7' C Marcus Cousin to see if he'd accept a TC invite -- I like that kid A LOT for us...He may have re-upped to play in Japan but I'd put a call in to see....May the best man win the job (or best 2 out of 3). I'm partial toward Whiteside and Barron at this point.

Agree with both posts. He looked really good in the summer league. The Chris Smith training camp signing is pretty worrisome. The guy looked bad in the SL and isn't an nba caliber player. I get doing him a favor so that scouts from Europe or something can see him but it seems like guys that might make the team should be brought in.

Chris Smith was IMO one of the least impressive SL players we had. I'm convinced that he's in camp merely to do a favor to JR. I watched all those games and Smith was a non factor. Jennings looked good. The more talent in camp the better.
I also thought Eloy Vargas looked pretty good. I was shocked by his jumper.
