What does he squat?
More importantly what does he dead lift.

If he were to make the team, who doesn't get in? By most accounts we only have 1 slot available.
We're talking 15th man, though folks seem to think Leslie doesn't have game.
But would they let go of Leslie or Tyler to squeeze in more players at the end of the bench?
I think the Knicks may be looking at this as 1 spot remaining, as in Jeremy Tyler and CJ Leslie are already on the team. Bringing in all these other guys is just them going thru the motions more or less just to do their diligence AND to fill the 15th spot. I feel that's the wrong approach..
I personally feel spots 13-15 should all be up for grabs -- no way do I consider JT and Leslie the locks the Knicks and a lot of fans feel they are. It makes no sense. Look at the situation with both guys -- JT is a project that has a broken foot. How on earth is he a lock for this team? He wasn't even a draft pick of ours....If something happens to one or 2 of our bigs early on (STAT and Bargnani have been injured recently; Chandler has shown he's a guy that's gonna misses time with injury, illness etc.; K-Mart's older now with a lot of miles on him; same for Artest who's more of a 3 anyway but still) -- I want a big that has enough size and skill that we can throw right in there and (a) he won't be intimidated by NBA ball and (b) he's got a good chance to slide right in, produce and pick up where the injured player left off. Hey maybe I'm shortchanging JT a little bit -- I was never a fan, I see a raw player, but maybe he could've fit the above 2-way criteria. But guess what, he's hurt now and won't be ready to start the season.
The thing is, I also want A WING that's ready to contribute in the NBA. Same deal -- we're down JR indefinitely, what if Shump's not ready for big mins and/or breaks down (even one of his leg cramp/dehydration issues where he misses some time, even if it's time within only one game where, say, he goes down with a cramp and misses an entire 2nd half)?, what if Hardaway Jr. isn't ready to pick up the slack and ready for big mins.?, etc. What if we overshot this draft pick and THJ isn't even NBA material?? I don't know he is for a fact...Nobody really knows that yet...I personally don't think CJ Leslie is anywhere near ready for the NBA. So where's that leave us? I think we need depth here as well. Quality depth -- the best we can get our hands on at the moment...Now if you follow this logic, then we'll need an extra roster spot open here too.
Instead of JT, Leslie and whoever (fill in the blank) --- I'd rather see them prioritize and come up with a better, more sensible plan with these last 3 spots -- gimmie a viable skilled big man that's ready to contribute (Aldrich?) and a quality wing (CDR, Sam Young, T-Will, Derrick Byars?) FIRST. Then, and only then, think about filling the last spot with whoever else -- another big perhaps (Diogu, keep JT?), keep Leslie, take a chance on Toure Murry, etc. That's how this whole end-of-the-roster issue needs to be approached and resolved. To just say JT and Leslie are locks and we only have 1 spot left is a mistake. I mean one of these projects is hurt for Christ's sake! We're trying to win a championship here!! Every game is important, starting with game 1!! 3 spots should be wide open right now, not only 1.
