Knicks · Amare is a distraction (page 1)
I dunno about you guys but if this dude can't come in and be one of the guys then he needs to be Marburied. 10/15 min restrictions? Ike Diogu deserves that time at this point more than Amare. If Amare isn't healthy then let him be Greg Oden or Andrew Bynum. Fuck this minute restriction bullshit. If the dude can't play 100%, then play guys that can. When he can give us a honest 20-30 mins because the coach called his number then fine. If the coach had to watch the clock? Then this dude needs to be in a suit straight up.

his whole act is a distraction away from the team...
yes if he is healthy he is needed, but playing a 10-15 minute cap is detrimental to the teams success. we do not need to keep hearing about him. if he can't play without restriction then he should not play at all.
When he is cleared to play as needed then he should play. the end
saving him for the playoffs is not something that we have the luxury of doing....the team can't afford to be learning ho to play with Amare in the playoffs. It sucks man but until he can play they should injured reserve him.

"i want to see what it feels like to be a free agent" is a distraction. can we expect more misdirection posts from you going forward for the entire fiasco of a season this season is charting to become?

misdirection? lol
It's cool to attack Melo but not speak the truth about Amare?
I'm not playing that back and forth game.....A minutes restriction was the distraction early this off season....the surprise surgery was the second distraction....now there are reports of more strict minutes restriction....
Misdirection my anus

i am not into blaming a guy for being injured. not my thing. maybe yours but not mine. ideally he should retire.
me? i'd rather focus on the players who can play. melo can play and yet he is talking about free agency before a single regular-season game has been played. really breathtakingly stoopid thing to do. is it okay with you that he did that? if so, why?
which in your mind is a greater distraction to the players? stoudemire not being able to play or melo not being able to keep his agenda to himself. just face it: melo is a colossally stupid, selfish, greedy, overpaid, and oblivious multi-millionaire.
amazing how anybody can justify or defend this.

Distraction in what way? He's most likely opting out to get the max contract - something you've said he'd do yourself.

I totally agree with you Melo is not a distraction. He was going to test the waters to get a max deal. The bigger distraction to me is that the Knicks are going to give him a max contract. Which IMHO would be another big mistake in the many mistakes in this franchise's history.

it's a distraction because it automatically puts winning as secondary. with this latest foolishness he singlehandedly destroys esprit de corps and erodes what little morale the team will muster this season. this is not leadership-- it's the exact opposite. and if i said he would do so it was only a re-confirmation of what i said when he was still a nugget and i meant it as a sign of his inferior character or lack of character.
let him get as much FU money as possible. he'll always be a loser.

Papabear Says
Amare is a distraction. The players on the Knicks team could care less about what Melo said. Who cared about Felton's feelings when he got traded, What about Chandler leaving Dallas after getting a ring, I know Shump says get what you can because he may be out the door so Melo is not a distraction. the way Shump is being criticized just might be a distraction.

your contributions would carry more weight if you would answer the questions i posed instead of merely chiming in with half-answers.
the questions are: is it okay with you that melo announced his intentions? if it is okay, why is it okay?
something else to chew on: try to recall what the nuggets personnel had to say about the 2010-2011 season. there is a huge historical precedent upon which to respond to the questions i asked.
SupremeCommander wrote:I think it was a distraction last season because Amar'e thought he was still the man... this season? I think the minutes he gives will be of great value
I can agree with that.
What I can't take is him being on a minutes restriction. It's not fair to say a dude can't play when they are working hard and can give you whatever minutes you need.... all because you want to make sure Amare gets his 10-15 min cap. That's detrimental to team chemistry.
Also Amare keeps talking like he's a super hero. Telling us about his training. Talking about the hall of fame, being this and that. The mic should only be for guys that are physically able to compete. So what he's showing up before practice and staying after. He still can't scrimmage and he can't play games.
Injuries suck and you commend him for trying to come back, but we are trying to build something. Amar'e is not apart of that until he can pay unrestricted. It's only right
