I'm averagely excited. I don't know, there's just something off somehow. I just want all the players to be friends and have fun.
What is your assessment of Tyler Hansborough?

who me? I do not like him.
Me either. I don't like his face
But I'm interested in IWG's assessment
lmao @ tyler, i can see why people want to elbow crap out of him
he brings energy and is pesky, i think could be great filthy man for us on knicks
very excited for season,
can be really good or really bad; bargs is spotty dog, mwp another year down, raw youth with too old guys, asking lot for regular season and hoping it comes together in playoffs for a push,
Not so exited.
Cannot relate much to this team.
Like Udrich, Pablo, Shrump.
Hope some new faces will surprise me.
Small bird, big bird... coach is so boring, so is Melo.
I am between not so excited and average. The fan in me wants it to work out for this team we have because I like most of the players right now. I even like Bargs. In fact, while I have been super duper critical of JR, I actually want him to do well and turn things around.
However, the realist in me sees differently. I'm worried that Melo could possibly be close to finding the other side of the peak, especially with his shoulder. I'm concerned that Chandler is not as good on defense as he either once was or what we perceive him to be. I am also starting to wonder if he is soft. I think Amar'e might have 2 years left in the league. I STILL think letting Lin go was a serious mistake even though I do like Felton a lot, despite the fact that he gets banged up pretty bad. Our veterans are injury prone. I'm hoping Shumpert doesn't turn injury prone.
Yet if we can overcome a good portion of this. I think we can be a sick team. The preseason hasn't shown this though.
Very Excited! I think people are absolutely BONKERS if they can't look past this preseason crap to what this team can actually do when it counts. Almost nothing you're seeing now is going to tell you just how good this team is gonna be. However, you should be able to see small signs. This team has so much quality depth. Just remember how amazing the team looked early on last year when the team was more healthy and IMO this roster should be even stronger.
Chandler looks like he has grown much more comfortable with his offense. Even the way he's attempting layups on Offensive Rebounds where he used to just throw it out even if he was wide open.
Other signs are the good spacing so far despite running a vanilla offense so far. MWP looks lighter and quicker than he did last year. I think he's gonna add a lot to this team this year.
The concerns are due to health and players rounding into game shape and form. This is a legit concern and hopefully they play this right this year in how they bring guys along and give rest.
It's difficult to even think about being excited about this Knicks season.

Our star player is a selfish black hole. He's not Lebron and he's not Durant. Case closed.
Our owner is a capitalist pig boy with no sense of basketball etiquette.
Our arena is an overpriced, overaged, sagging ho with recently installed fake teats compared to the shiny hot hip hop retro space ship that has landed in the new mecca that is the Brookston CeltNyets.
Indiana has Roy Russell Hibbert.
The Bulls have everyone we really need.
Tim Duncan is great.
Most NBDL equipment managers > Woodson
Toronto has cooler colors, and they have Novak.
The East still sucks the West's second hand leavings. Except for Miami, who are really and truly a futuristically great franchise built to win the right way.

Ha ha, I'm still incredibly overly tremendously excited!
Always excited for a new Knicks season. I will temper my expectations but it's still a new basketball season!
I go through a cycle of being very excited on the run up to training camp, then once preseason starts I start getting stressed- like the calm before the storm. So at the moment I'm averagely excited. I think we have a lot of work to do, but I'm looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish.
I'm looking for the "cautiously optimistic" choice. Rebounding and defense has always been a weak point with this team. I'm very concerned with the last players chosen for the bench, as well as health concerns of our big men. I really want a player who consumes rebounds as a way of life.

I think rebounding is our biggest weakness, I'd love a player like Reggie Evans that just lives and breathes rebounding for 15 minutes a game. Does anyone know what percentage of games we were out rebounded last year? I'd guess like 80%.
Dam, no somber option.
I'm still trying to figure out why this team should be destined to fall back in the pack just because the Bulls, Nets and Pacers are strong. We already lost to the Bulls so that won't change anything if they don't split those 4 games.
We split with the Pacers, split with the Nets and went 3-1 verses the Heat. It's not hard to imagine that the Knicks will most likely do about the same this year against those top teams give or take a win/loss. Most likely a split with those teams. That said the team should still be just as dangerous against the lesser teams in the league. This is likely to be a tougher Knicks team to deal with than people are giving them credit for.
Im being realistic. This team is flawed. We have health problems and were relying on players that former teams didnt want. To me we cant make serious ccontender moves until amares contract comes off the books. We need better role players to build around melo and another star. To me the amare-melo experiment failed so lets just watch the time run out then rebuild. I think well hv a solid team and have some entertaining moments but I dont expect much in the playoffs. I hope im wrong but I dont expect it
47wins...2nd rd exit...waiting for summer 2015

Why are you predicting so many fewer wins? I actually think poor health and age kept the Knicks from winning more games last year. I think this team can be even better than last years team and I see no reason they can't actually win 54 or more this year. I'm just not seeing this weakness some fans are perceiving from this roster. This team had so many old players last year and some players that gave us nearly nothing. Just go look at the players we had and what we have this year and it's a much stronger team even with the risk of health problems to STAT or KMart. There won't be any White or Camby types on this roster. Down to the 15th man this team is strong.
Because i still dont think this team is healthy...stat,kmart,jr and im not comfy with melos shoulder or tysons stability over the long haul. It scares me that were relying on bargs and artest. Yes I did think we improved this offseason. Grunwald improvised to pick up scraps that other teams didnt want and were hoping they pan out. Thats the best we couldve done with our cap situation. I think well be a solid team (yes 47wins is solid) but I dont think were a true contender. Plus the east got alot tougher (im tempted to rank miami 3rd & theyre the world champs.

Nets are no sure thing and the Pacers have been ridiculously overhyped since the playoffs (though I suppose going 7 games vs the Heat earns you that). Writers seemed to think Granger would be magically healed and fit in seamlessly. Instead, as has been the case so far, he'll likely be injured on and off, limited and a chemistry disruption- he already whined that he should be starting over Lance Stephenson. Cope hasn't had a good preseason- still time for him to turn it up (he was recovering all offseason from surgery, so maybe he just needs to get rid of the rust). And Hibbert was poor at the start of last season, then average, then good in the playoffs (thanks refs!)- who knows how he'll look this season.
I'll be honest, as much as I dislike playing against them, I am quite jealous of that Bulls team! A real defensive beast of a team!
Until we best them in a series, indy is better than us until proven otherwise
