The roster is clumsier than eva

He knew that they played well and had something he could go back to if he was in a tough situation with this new roster. This offense Woody is trotting out is pure garbage. It's just guys out there winging it and Melo chucking low % shots. This is horrid decision making. This team seems like it's too much for Woody to handle. Too many options. I hope i'm wrong, but given the fact that he wasn't exactly an X's and O's genius it's not that unbelievable to think he's in over his head right now. Dude had all summer and a full preseason and he's got NOTHING right now in terms of how to use this roster.
we got slammed hard in the playoffs because of the two point guard backcourt, shump out of position as a result, and melo overpowered by nba-sized power forwards.
the roster remains clumsy because we are pretending we have a true franchise player to build around where it is painfully clear that we don't. compounding the issue is that we have an inadequate point guard who needs too much help orchestrating.
doug collins said the new paradigm for success is having basically three wing/backcourt players who are playmakers plus two frontcourt guys, presumably for defense mostly and finishing.
the knicks are nowhere near this model. they look like a steaming pile on offense.
woodson needs to stick with felton shumpert artest anthony chandler and see how far that can go. juggling lineups is an act of desperation based on a lack of vision. when it is clear that it is not working he needs to bench felton and start prigioni, or udrih.
What fans are looking for isn't just a firing, but we are look for structure, a game plan against each team.
We can sit at home and come up with better plans than our current coaching staff.
While you at it Fire Herb Williams, he's been here too long. LOL

I kinda agree with this. I don't know how last year the Knicks come out of the gate looking so tuned and then this year is ugly. Is it just Jason Kidd? Or is it the collective play of Melo, Felton, Shump, Bargs who all seem off?

i would argue it looks like this coaching staff has NO plan.
we need a coach who has the cajones to tell these guys when they're not doing something right and pull them if they aren't playing the way they want them to. yes, that means telling melo to stop chucking when he gets into that mode or to start playing more d when he feels he's not. and yes, then melo will get mad, well if he don't like it, he can opt out this year and go elsewhere. with plenty of capspace in 2015, id rather bring in a coach who is going to build something here than have one who is too afraid to get his point across.
The switching D is just stupid.
I have my problems with Woodson's coaching at times but its too early to panic. New players, the rotations aren't close to being set, JR isn't back yet and has to be worked into the rotation. My guess its going to take a month for everyone to get on the same page.

Do we have an owner who backs the head coach, so that he can implement some of these methods ?
SOMEBODY NEEDS TO INTERVIEW DOLAN AND ASK THAT QUESTION. I know , that isn't gonna happen.

If everybody had long arms and was between 6"6 and 6" 10 maybe we could get away with it sometimes during games.

Kidd was the main reason he makes everyone better.

Melo coming off a terrific olympic shooting performance, felton with the chip on his shoulders, kidd just brought natural leadership, rasheed a defensive leader.
More importantly, amare and shump were on the shelf, so his line ups were easy to manage.
So now it's beno or prigs..artest or bargs...kmart of amre..shump,THJ or JR..too many line up potentials to deal with..who to bench, who to bring in, basing your line up on the opponent..too much going on, an as a result were terrible inconsistent..
looked at us, we can go up by 20, lose by 20, come back from 20 down, lose a 20 point lead, It's ridiculous..

I kinda see your point but you make it seem like we have too much talent ? How can that be a negative?

It's a negative when you don't know what to do with your talent.
Imagine a soldier having every weapon he needs to fight the battle, but if he's throwing his grenades at a single enemy and shooting his revolver at an army of enemies, or using a snipers scope at someone 3 feet in front of you, chances are your not going to survive..

Chile please!
I guess were still in preseason mode, still evaluating uh...great!!!
