play 12 minuts, then don't play for 5 days how, in the world do you find rhythm...

He looks heavy and doesn't appear to have that elite athleticism that he had.

not making any excuses but, he has been rehabbing all summer, he's played what, 30 total minutes since march, and thats including the playoffs

Amare has been rehabbing more time during the last 3 years than not. I no longer take that as an excuse. I only care about the product on the court.

As much as I like Amar'e, this **** is unacceptable.

Since when did Felton become un-benchable? I hope who ever they bring in as coach will bench him for prigioni
BRIGGS @ 11/5/2013 8:51 PM
I think Chandler busted his kneecap.

The Knicks currently are planning on playing him 410 minutes this year in their 10 minute every other game platoon. It doesn't seem worth it for Amare or the Knicks.

Ok Woody, you are supposed to be a defensive coach.

Yet our defense is atrocious.

Do you value your job?

TeamBall @ 11/5/2013 8:52 PM
Don't know what to make of this team right now. Even with JR, a lot of the problems still remain. To make matters worse, we won't know about Tyson until tomorrow...

I missed the play but saw the replay. I hope you are wrong and I hope they replay it again.

This is how you get a coach fired, remember Mike Danphoney ?

GustavBahler @ 11/5/2013 8:53 PM
Could have sworn I heard Metta telling his teammates "You're not working" repeatedly while they were on D. I get chemistry issues early on but the effort should still be there, on both ends of the court. Felton can't wait until the closing minutes of the first half to put pts on the board when the offense is stagnant. Should be driving more and collapsing the D, especially now.
BRIGGS @ 11/5/2013 8:54 PM
Dolan this is why you put top 3-5 protection on picks hedge against injury. Dolan is the guy who gave Denver every last scintilla--so its his gig.

Its funny some fans get mad because they feel he doesnt get enough credit for being "elite" but so far he hanst shown he is elite

I'm thinking that his passion has to be at "Honey-Nut Cherrios" level. He's starting to have a Bargnani vibe to him. Real lax. 17 rebounds must be putting in work for two games

Truth is the defense is awful, we no longer take care of the ball and everything sucks.

Well...Woody didn't put this team together. If it was up to him, I think he would've had more defensive minded players. Just like Dantoni would've had more offensive minded Nash type PG's or offense.

Can we ever get a coach and GM in sinc with each other. Watching the Knicks in the 90's, I would've never guessed we would suck this bad for so long. When you have an owner with deep pockets, and the thrill of playing in NYC, never thought it would be this hard to rebuild.

Your battling in a war that you will never win. The knicks place no value on draft picks, they have not since the Eddy Curry trade. 3 picks for Bargs a player that no one else wanted tells you all you need to know.

blkexec @ 11/5/2013 9:00 PM
Look at the bright side....At least they didn't score 78 in the first half, like the Clippers did to Houston and their improved defensive squad, with Dwight Howard and Allstar Lin and his lock down defense.

Amare movements remind me of "EDDY LEE WILKINS"

if you added 3 defenders in front of the rim and have him get blocked that would look exactly like amare.

UGLY play once again...Just can't get any stops. Gotta grab some rebounds too -- that's gonna be harder than normal w/o Tyson now. Wish we had a player like Jeff Adrien. Just a good, tough role player. Always has been.. We actually had a chance to add a similar player only better offensively (Ike Diogu) and passed for no good reason. Someone explain to me where our frontcourt toughness is -- Chandler out; Amar'e's looking lost; Martin out (and we could use him); Bargs is just allergic to rebounding; Aldrich in street clothes (what was the point in taking this guy? If Martin was considered a DNP all the way tonight by Woody, he should be the one sitting there in a suit and Aldrich should be active)..

More on Amar'e -- yeah he played poorly and looked lost/rusty but the positive is that he was out there for a sustained run. This guy, every time he returns from any kind of layoff, is always rusty and it takes a long time to build him back up again. Gotta stick with him now and allow him to grow and get comfortable once again...Any further unnecessary DNPs will do nothing but stunt that growth imo..

knickscity @ 11/5/2013 9:02 PM
64 to a team that scores 85.

At the half.

nixluva @ 11/5/2013 9:03 PM
Gotta refocus on Defense in the 2nd half. Woody needs to get up into his team and tell them to get up into their man in D. Pick up the PG earlier and STOP SWITCHING EVERYTHING!!!

I think Woodson and Grunwald were in sync last year. I think Dolan's becoming involved, firing Grunwald and generally reminding anyone in the organization how dysfunctional he can be has Woodson a bit shook. How else do you explain Chris Smith on the team. Also, Bargs seems to be a better fit for the second unit and Woodson is fond of the 2 point guard line up. I think Woodson will be more comfortable when JR comes back.
