Also, I would make a move for him at any point if he is available and the Knicks could get a deal done. I don't see the Celts moving Rondo even if they could dump Wallace's contract but I would love to see him on the Knicks.
I like evan turner.. but the play here is to find a sucker for carmelo... the blazers may be takers.. but we won't get a whole lot.. I would take Batum(probably won't move him) wes matthews and a pick... then I would make a run at turner.....that's a start....

not a shot in hell..
I bet Doc Rivers would think about it long and hard. With CP3 you have a guy who would know when and where to get Melo the ball. Chandler can make free throws and wouldn't be a 4th quarter bench player like DeAndre is.
Look at this another Trade Melo thread...
I agree that trading Melo would be the best business decision. This team is what it is as you see it and it's not improving any more. We are dry of assets for the most part. Trade Melo and tyson for prospects, if at all possible.
We are screwed if we have a bad season regardless. If we don't trade Melo, he will leave for LA and we don't have a pick. We a absolutely have to pick up the pace.

Completely agree with you Mr. Houston Fan. We need to decide right now what to do with him. No wait and see, just full on decisiveness. Hopefully they realize they're not capable of building anything worthwhile with Melo and trade him for just something.. And for god's sake don't include him in the talks/rumor mill. Next thing you know, he'll only want to play for the Nets or Lakers and we're stuck with their crappy package.
This is the first time this totalitarian, secret media policy shyt would benefit us if we could keep this trade out of the media a la the Deron Will trade.
There's plenty of trade scenarios that could be worthwhile.
We need to do all we can to provide Melo help, Rondo is probably the most logical target. All the Melo trade talk is just jumping the gun. It is very unrealistic and plus he won't be able to net us a lot as the uncertaintly surrounding his contract makes him less attractive. If you are ever going to trade Melo, this year is not the right year to do it.
A team won't give much for pending free agent unless he agrees to resign there.
Do we owe any picks to denver for him?
Sucks when you lose a player, suck, and owe a high pick to another team and have to read all the threads about the Melo trade.
Again.
Dolan wants a championship!!!! He should have sold the knicks to Prokhorov when he came calling.
I would ask Denver politely if they would be kind enough to give us our pick back.

Don't forget to ask Toronto too
This franchise has a problem with reality. We dragged out being bad by continually thinking we were 1 move away when we had Allan Houston & that group.
And Dolan won't buy in to building the right way- so I agree, drive this franchise right into the ground! Lets become a laughing stock again. Dolan deserves that!

I said do that during the offseason.. oh well..
If you want to blow it up i get it, i just want to ask a couple questions so i can understand the expectations. Are you ok being a bad team for an indefinite amount of time? At what point is losing no longer acceptable? After 5 years? 7 years? What happens if we become the Bobcats or Kings or Suns or Wizards or Pistons or Bucks etc instead of the Pacers or OKC Thunder and are a lottery team for 10+ years? At what point does rebuilding become more successful than the Melo Era? How do we ensure we become a perennial 54-win team or greater and get to the 2nd round or greater with so many rebuilding teams unsuccessful year after year of accomplishing that feat?

We build like we almost did when we had Gallo, ill wil and DLee. If we'd drafted a PG in that 2009 draft, we'd end up with either Jrue Holiday, Brandon Jennings or Ty Lawson. Or tried moving up that one spot for Steph Curry. You know, instead of staying put with Chris Duhon. MDA would probably have been here longer and we wouldn't have felt the need to throw money at STAT and MDA might have had the clout to deny that STAT signing.
It's not impossible at all.

nah, here is why, the Clippers are deep.. they don't need a player to come in and score... they get that from numerous players... who in turn do other things.. chandler may be a slight upgrade over Jordan, and I mean slight, but that is not enough to give up blake.. and here is another thing.. they don't have to worry about guys playing out of position. Blake is a true PF, he rebounds and finishes... not sure how this trade makes them better at all... what will carmelo give them that they don't have now? same with chandler?

It is proven in the NBA.. don't have to be bad for long. just be patient. we could move carmelo, get a pick and a couple of useful players... play shumpert and THJ, increase their value... look to get under the cap and be smart... not sure why you guys think we would be bad for 7 years.. if we are going to be bad that long after we trade carmelo, we were going to be bad with him... we are not wining with carmelo.. why is that so hard to accept? you don't have to be bad for long..

exactly.... stop looking at other team star players on the decline. make move for guys before they break out... key is to be patient and smart...

PF would def be lacking for LAC if that trade went down. Upside to Melo, Chandler: guys who can play at the end of the game. For me Chandler is a huge upgrade over DeAndre, if healthy. DeAndre still figuring it out and Chandler been all the way. I don't watch LAC much but Blake doesn't seem to have much more than a dunking/in-close game; with shooters and defenders around Melo and CP3, that's a deadly inside/outside combo.

So how do you account for the fact that there are far more teams that remain in the basement each year than ones that can successfully go from blowing it up to successful in a short period of time? How do you account for all of the teams i listed? Is it poor management? If that is the case, how does our management fair in the rebuilding process? You are right, you don't have to be bad for long, but you could also be bad for a very long time as well.

Exactly, you are taking about if we did this or that. If we drafted a PG and then made a different trade for Melo. The same example you just used can be applied to the team that includes Melo now, not just the one that we had before him. You are using hinesight to justify rebuilding. If that is the case we should have moved up one spot for Curry, not signed Amare, resigned Lee and traded Gallo, Chandler, and Moz for Melo. So then we are left with Melo, Curry, and Lee. See, hinesight works with Melo on the team too, and makes us look like a very good team.
