Knicks · Are we in trouble? How serious is the trouble? (page 1)
skeng@ 11/6/2013 7:50 AM
Marbury shyt. We're probably stuck with Melo until 2019 if we give him that 5 yr contract. If that's the case, then I'll be another djsunyc and just troll this place in a friendly way.
NardDogNation@ 11/6/2013 9:05 AM
It's hard to say that we're in serious trouble because Melo could get us pretty good value in a trade and we have no major contracts that extend beyond 2015. If necessary, we can hit the reset button quite seemlessly and rebuild this team on the fly. The only thing that adds a degree of seriousness to it is the fact that Dolan is rash/stupid and might do something that inhibits our ability to hit that reset button. This team, as constituted, isn't better than a 2nd round berth but we could easily underachieve, which is probable on the course we are on. I think our guys have given up on Woodson, which is not a good sign for success in the future.

We're in serious trouble because of our coach.

I was a (tepid) Woody supporter but I am not any longer… I hate that he tinkers with the rotations/lineup based upon the opponent. I hate that. John Wooden never did that. Just put your best team out each night and make the other team change what they're doing to compete with us.
Time to start begging Shaka Smart to come to the NBA

Looks like Melobury... Seriously I think it is more booooring. Marbs and Isiah generated a lot of fun. This team is slipping in mediocrity oblivion.
OasisBU@ 11/6/2013 9:40 AM
I believe we have some serious issues but its nothing we should be surprised about. This team was exposed once Kidd fell off last season and especially during the indiana series. The problems are fixable but we need some players to step up - right now it looks like they are not having fun and there is a lot of sloppy passing and perimeter chucking.
We have plenty of talent so we can work through this but a bad start to the season could set us on a path to missing the playoffs if we do not get it together quickly.

The Knicks were fine when Kidd fell off and we figured out a lineup that worked. Don't forget our March/April stretch where we beat the likes of OKC, IND, etc. We should have never strayed from what we were doing last year. We took IND to 6 games with our 3 most important players playing hurt.
Here's a little nugget...when Bargs is on the bench we have the best Defense in the league statistically. Wake up Woodson.

still early in the season but if Tyson goes down with a serious injury, we're in trouble...
Knixkik@ 11/6/2013 10:12 AM
Still only 4 games in. However we need to get Melo some help.

help comes in the form of the return of JR Smith. but again, no tyson no chance.

I think you are overrating Tyson.

If you play it by committee then yes those guys you mentioned will give you everything Chandler gives. I would throw in Aldrich too.

Andrea is just a terrible ball player. He is a minus when he is on the court. No coach in his right mind would start him.
This organization is such an embarrassment. And it's deserved. No idea how to build a team, everything is a fucking panic move. The amnesty of Billups essentially killed this franchise for the next decade.
Look at the roster. There is little to no talent, our depth is highly overated. If JR Smith doesn't play at an All Star level we going to really start to lose.

I was very down on Tyson. But it's impossible to overstate his value to the team when he's playing like he has been to start the season.

It feels like Bargs always leads the team in - rating every game going back to preseason. At least Novak did nothing, but led the team in +/- (I never figured out how he did it!).
JamesLin@ 11/6/2013 12:18 PM
There's really nothing to say. Jimmy Dolan is cancer (no pun intended)to this team. Whether you believe me that he's the puppet master of all this failure or not, as long as he's the owner, we never see anything hopes of light. this whole trade was just a joke, seriously. You will never see another owner does this THIS bad. I couldn't even finish watching the last game...
