I been hinting at them all off-season....Faried for Shump is one....Isaiah Thomas in sactown is another and I think that kid is untouchable now....he's playing out of his mind right now.
The Knicks need someone to take a stand and bring some stability. Woodson needs to coach this squad and stick to a game plan not adjust to each team as they go....
The new President has to make a trade to force Woodson to do so....it doesn't have to be a block buster deal....but the Knicks need to look to reinforce our holes.
We need a point guard that can attack....Felton isn't doing that and playing Priggy extended minutes doesn't give us the one two punch we need.
Bobby Brown would have been perfect....in hind sight. Beno is being wasted right now. Amare needs to be shut down or put out there to play legit minutes every day not spot minutes when the doctors feel it's ok....chemistry is down because of it.
What can we do to stabilize this roster?

"We" can't do anything. I doubt Mills is on the phones doing trade things. Thats Mark Winkydink job and isn't John Gabriel on the payroll?
As far a pleading for Amare to step up or retire, Really???? They guy is done and the plan is to play him back until he gets hurt again. Kicking the can down the road.
You'v been "Hinting" to whom?
How is shumpert for Faried lateral? denver loses in that trade... I like shumpert, but come on.. faried is a threat to double/ double every night.... we don't get anything consistent out of shumpert...
As far as fixing this roster or adding some stability, that may be an off season job....a lot of restructuring..
So we just crash and burn?

I know you have a hard on for anything Nuggets but the fact of the matter is that the franchise is not nearly as enarmored with Faried as you are. I think that much was evidenced by the fact that they signed JJ Hickson and traded for Darrell Arthur this offseason. The Nuggets do have a pressing need at the 2 guard spot and I can easily see them being interested in Shumpert's services given his youth and play.

He's a threat to double-double every night, is that supposed to be impressive? Any competent big man in the league is a "threat to double-double" he's nothing special. Besides, Faried's double doubles are of the 10pts 10rbs variety, not the 20pt 15rb kind. He's not that good.

I like Faried, but i think Shumpert is the one piece that can help acquire an all-star, packaged with our big expiring contracts when the time comes, if that is the route we choose as a team.
If we can grab Nash that would be the best

Who would that be? What all star is dangling right now? Amare and Shump for who? Shump and Bargs for who? I'm just asking.... Torontos Rudy Gay? Who else is possibly available?
I would look to Denver and try to get Nate and Faried. It's not a blockbuster per say, but in terms of giving this team what they need to Stablize itself this works big time. I would start priggy and jr and have Nate and Beno off the bench. Front court we could start Faried and Melo with Bargs until Chandler comes back. Then we don't have to play the game with KMart and Amare. We would have reloaded a bit and Stabilized everything.
Although this can't happen until mid-January - How about reaquiring Jeremy Lin for Felton and JR Smith? With Lin's style of offense, we need shooters but I think Hardaway Jr and Shump could match JR Smith's production and definitely his consistency. Maybe we could rid ourselves of Chris too. I like Felton and he's a better value - but is still bothers me we have to have a 2nd point guard to pair with him.
Like JR kinda, but feel he's replaceable in a ball movement-type offense with Hardaway and Shumphert around.
With Lin, you could pair Shumphert and spread out the offense. It would probably help Bargnarni play more to his strengths, and we know Chandler did well with Lin here too. Aside from Melo having to adjust his style, it seems like it would help overall. And isn't that the criticism of Melo haters anyway - he's great and we need him - but the ball has to move more and we need a guard that penetrates better. Before I hear the critics - consider how well Lin did here before, how much energy and non-static basketball we played, along with his smarts/maturity as a player. Lin's not perfect, but possibly attainable since he splits time with Beverly. For me, he minimizes several crucial problems with this team.
because they would never take felton and jr for lin!

That's a terrible trade for us. I'd do it for Felton but would need Greg Smith back.
Shumpert should be packed with an expiring to get an all star and Felton and jr can only get Jeremy Lin?
And you guys like to get on me.

really? well here is the list.. Dwight, David lee, Aski, Vujaveic, Zach, hickson and Horford..
the next group of guys close to avg a double/ double, who were over 9 boards per but not quite 10..
Cousins, monroe, Faried, Tristian Thompson, Al jefferson, Lamarcus Aldridge..
Pretty good company.. So it is not just any competent big man.. these guys are above and beyond competent..
and you could not get any of them just by trading shumpert... The end!!!

by time we have any expiring deals shump will be close to the end of his rookie deal, so what do you think happens? he will want more money? will teams see him as a bargain still?

nate for shumpert alone, denver may, may, do.. faried they will laugh at... they would want what the knicks don't have... picks as well..

This might be a poignant argument IF Faried actually averaged a double-double, which he has never done.

Let's cut through to the stats: He averaged 11.5 points and 9.2 rebounds, so he clearly fulfilled the bare minimum requirements when getting most of his double-doubles. You also left out players from your lists, hand selecting players you needed to make your point. You even left off Chandler! Like I said, he's a 10 and 10 guy. A lot of the guys you mentioned can put up 20 points a night and grab 15 rebounds and it wouldn't be a special game for them like it would for faried. I looked at his point statistics per game and faried scored 20+ only 6 times all of last season playing 80 games. He may get double doubles but his numbers are not impressive.

Exactly, he's like infatuated with the guy. Comparing him to Dwight Howard lmao
Should have gotten involved with the Bledsoe trade with Shumpert being the main piece being moved. Imagine right now with Bledsoe running the Knicks instead of Felton.
