Knicks · DJSunyc was right about Bargnani (page 1)

EnySpree @ 11/9/2013 3:58 PM
Bargnani has to be featured in order to be effective on offense....The Knicks put Bargs at the top of the key, they gave him pick and rolls all day and allowed him to go one on one....Bargs was the man last night.

Melo is going to get his regardless....the offense needs to but run through Bargs. He needs the touches, and it shows that he can be prolific when he gets in a zone.

When JR comes back he is going to make the Knicks very potent offensively...

Bargs gets 8rebs and 5blks he can get as many touches on offense that he wants. On a serious note its basically a no brainer. Which is y I didn't understand why make the trade for Bargs if this wasn't the plan from the beginning. Get Bargs his touches and allow Chandler, Melo, Artest, Kmart to scrap.

newyorknewyork @ 11/9/2013 4:43 PM
There are going to be nights when Bargs is off as well, but I don't think we have a choice.
arkrud @ 11/9/2013 6:13 PM
One good night is not telling.
But it is clear that Bargs is not a compliment to Melo or JR.
Melo and JR can compliment Bards game...
Not sure what Grunny was thinking... may be make Melo a better player...
This will be cool... but I need to see more of this to believe..

What you are saying is very key.... everyone has to compliment Bargs.

I didn't believe it at first, but after seeing the Knicks do it last night I was that this is how it has to be. That's why I give DJ the props Cuz that dude Cuz is a raptor fan and he's been saying since the trade went down that Bargs has to be featured. Good call.

Tysons injury is a hidden gift. Tyson needs to be the grunt when he comes back. Bring the pain!

Woodson needs to start jr!

Bargnani only tries when he is shooting and shooting well. If he isn't part of the offesne or struggling he plays with no intensity at all.

95% of the time he is invisible. This game was an aberration.

We don't know for sure that this is a one off game for Bargs. That could be the case or maybe he ends up being up and down in his performance, but what we do know is that this guy avg'd 17.2, 21.4, 19.5 in 3 successive years and if we can get that player excited about his role here with the talent we have there's no reason he can't put up big numbers here. Someone that had 3 years like that in a row isn't invisible 95% of the time. GTFOH!

also it takes a lot less effort to beast against shit teams,

if the challenge is too high, like it will be against the spurs on sunday, then he will shrink like a raisin

Based on what? According to Raps fans Bargnani usually brings it against the better teams (I.e. Miami, Indy, NYK,etc), problem is that they say he would get lazy/bored against the mediocre and lesser teams. So I'm not saying he is going to have a big game, but it shouldn't be a surprise if he does.

Caseloads @ 11/10/2013 3:10 AM
We all know Bargs has talent. He needs to do this for at least a season for it to count.

Give me a coach that runs plays for Bargs and then we'll talk.

When Bargs was healthy and a primary option he was a guy who avg'd 17.2, 21.4 and 19.5 in a 3 year stretch. He's clearly capable of putting up points. The only issue I see now is that this offense is too simplistic and unscripted. There's no focus to this offense and that's not good.

The team defense isn't helping him either. Tyson can flourish in this switching defense cuz he's so much more athletic, but Bargs isn't that kind of player. You need solid fundamental defense in front of him. His range is more limited around the basket. IMO most of this is on Woody as a coach. He's not helping Bargs on offense or defense with his schemes.

Lol.

Bargs is terrible though, but he will play well in a game or so over the course of a season.

I honestly dont see how anyone can support a player they KNOW should play better but admits they wont.
