Knicks · Is there even one fan here with what we have seen (page 2)

Prepare yourself for yet another lecture on drafting well in a properly run franchise. That's headed in the right direction. 1st round and out.
Or maybe not.

Fair enough. We've all been way off at times.

That was the fan in you. When you look at the Knicks without any fandom you will see one good player. The rest are average to below average.
Yeah, I try not to let that bias me but it probably was the fan in me that thought this was a 47 win team.
We are an overaged team that will break down and hopefully get some late season help from two of our best players [referencing Shump and Stat].
Courage fellas. We have the same record as the Brooklyn Paper World Beaters and the drastically improved Chicago Rose!
And yes, this one fan thinks we can still compete for a chip. [no sarcastic smiley inserted here]

Right on cue, even.
At least he didn't mention Gallo's efficiencies.

the problem with that is, that the nets and bulls seem to be in much better position to improve upon their situation.
it is like two people waiting on the unemployment line.. One barely graduated HS with little work experience, the other finished his Degree and has a ton of experience networking computers..
yes, both of them are in a rough spot, but wouldn't you say one is in a lot better position to rise out of this situation than the other?
Having the same record does not mean you are in the same situation..

Yeah, funny how that is now, huh?

But you see, the Nets and Bulls weren't supposed to be in the unemployment line to begin with, remember? Lousy analogy.
The Bulls seem to be flawed because Rose aint Rose. Yet. Maybe he turns it around, or maybe he continues with what you might even call "Melo-like efficency" ![]()
The Nets are chock full of veterans that were supposed to follow the Kidd impact on Moody Deron right to the top of the pathetic Atlantic by simply standing upright.
Neither paper holders are doing all that well right now. That's all.
So predicting our season-long existence on the unemployment line is a bit of a stretch at this point.
Just sayin.

great analogy actually, because no one is supposed to be in the unemployment line.. I don't think anyone plans to be there, but sometimes there are mis-steps, slow starts ,etc. The ability to rise out of that is important, and the way it seems now the nets and bulls are the one's holding the degrees and work experience...
The knicks don't look like paper holders man.. plain and simple... bringing up the nets and bulls is useless.. really... it doesn't help the knicks at all.

nothing new to see here folks... move along.
On the topic:
Briggs... I see two quality players in Tyson and Melo. The rest are below average NBA starters if they are starters at all.
We have one top ten player in Melo. One top 30 player in Chandler and probably nobody else cracks the top 100. We lack talent. Point blank

no fish they didn't. they won more games than us and there is a good possibility they will be there collecting the knicks lottery pick this year fish..
maybe you should stay on topic.. your somewhat emotional potshots at me, don't seem to be working for you..

It's not just about individual talent, Indiana last year went to the Eastern Conf Finals, where was all the talent ? They played more teamball with one talent in Paul George. Hibbert is just big and the pg is a heady team player like the rest of the roster.

Yeah fish, don't you realize the key to life is collecting lottery picks? As the Nuggets will probably end up with a lottery pick of their own without help from the Knicks.
But wait, maybe it's all about first round exits! Or getting your COTY fired! You are truly just overemotinally blinded to see the beauty of well-run franchise, fish.
But that's okay, hopefully we'll be subjected to the neverending musings about Indiana now...
Soon to be followed by "I didn't mention Indiana, you did..."![]()
tkf, it's okay to be wrong occassionally. We humans live with it and move on.
Long season so maybe team can turn it around.
We all in the boat together!

question.. why is it so important to you guys what denver does?
Are you truly happy with the situation the knicks are in?
you talk about being wrong.. what is there to be right or wrong about? the knicks are not in a good situation and you guys know it..
You are very focused on denver, and you thumb your nose at teams with draft picks and flexibility..
That has been a formula for success for a lot of teams..
what are we doing? has anyone ever won this way?
You guys bring up denver.. not me.. I understand what they are doing...they are in great shape...
We are not.. that is the problem...
so again, are you happy with the knicks?
Myself no... Im not happy with the Knicks. Knicks act like they are made of money, need a PG and let Jeremy Lin when all it took was cash. He would easily be our best guard right now.
Instead we resigned JR Smith for a long term contract. A volume shooting knucklehead who almost singlehandedly shot us out of the playoffs. Lets not forget the roster spot we are using for his brother Chris instead of using it for a guy who might be solid in the pipeline. The team wins 54 games and the first division title in a decade plus and they fired the GM and bring in someone who was has fingerprints all over the Isiah era, one of the most disgraceful runs we have seen in NY sports. Rich Kotite's Jets were more watchable.
So no... not happy.
Playa2.. the Pacers have much more talent. Do you really suggest otherwise? And yes.. this team doesnt compliment each other in any way, not with Chandler out.

2010 - Made the playoffs after being the absolute laughingstock of sports.
2011 - Got a playoff win
2012 - Second round of the playoffs.
You see how that works? I've been a fan since 1969-70.
Other teams starphucque and win, but you don't even bother to thumb your nose at that. Miami, Boston, LA all say hello.
Your singular melo hate blinds you to anything but negativity, which is why you surreptiously disappear every time we go on a protracted winning streak.
You see great shapes in first round exits for other teams.
"They" are always in great shape and "We" are not, no matter what the outcome.
"They" win 50-some games and are in great shape.
"We" win 50-some games and are a fool's gold franchise.
"They" compete in a tough Conference and are in great shape.
"We" get the second seed in our conference and are labeled meaningless.
"We" fire coaches and are a douchebag franchise.
"They" fire coaches and are building for the future.

fish, they got off to a crap start last year.. what do you want me to say? they are off to crap start now? try visiting the denver board on realgm.. I said the same thing there.. sorry bro..
Denver is not good right now, but that will change when shaw gets a handle on the team and gallo and chandler returns..
But I will take it as a step further.. it doesn't matter if denver falls short this year.. they could easily win 40 games, get out lottery pick and still be in great shape...
so what more do you want me to say fish? I rather be in their shoes as would most reasonable NBA fans..
Myself no... Im not happy with the Knicks
Ok, and in the end, that is all that matters.. doesn't matter what denver does now as they are pretty much following their plan, and that hasn't changed...

And that is very understandable.. which is why I don't get how you can be down on what a team like denver, or any other team is doing... right now, almost any other option is better than what we are doing.. as a jet fan, i remember the kotite days... and boy I hated it... I am saying this not because I want to see the knicks fail.. I want to see them win.. but I after many years of being a yankee fan, jets and knicks fan have learned to see things for what they are really worth.. and I just think the knicks are pretty much in as bad as a situation as a team can be.. and I feel sorry for a few dudes on this team, as they are not deserving of this mess...
This is what sucks fish.. Knicks are capped out.. if they keep carmelo, they are not a contender, if they get rid of him they still are not a contender, but here is the problem.. we don't even own our own pick this year.. and that is because of him...
Had we owned our pick this year. missed the playoffs, it would not be that bad at all.. maybe we would get that player to help this team out.. and guess what, we get him on the cheap....
we dont' even have that.. I just wish fans stop fooling themselves... this is a mess.. maybe I am wrong fish.. but so far, all evidence leans to what I and some others have been saying..
thats all..
