I believe the last straw for me was against Houston.... he got caught in a switch and was guarding Beverly. The Fucking guy walks away from him and starts to head into the post to tell Felton to go get his man. Beverly gets a pass and nocks down a wide open 3.... woodson called time or and Tim Amare out.
That was the last straw. He should be benched until he is physically able to play. Right now he is both physically and mentally unable to play.
When he is really not playing this is pretty much what you are going to get. I don't buy into this platoon and minute regulation. Amare needs to play a lot more than what they are letting him.

Yeah but his issues appear to be a lot more then rust and rhythm. He appears to be very slow and to have lost his athleticism which was the main part of his game. Also, the guy is heavy. I thought he was vegan and a workout freak.

He hasn't lost his athleticism just play the guy 30 minutes a night his athleticism will comeback with each game.

I have no problem with that. My guess is he lasts 5 games before breaking down though.
Amare is averaging 6.6 turnovers per 36 minutes.
He should earn his minutes in practice. If he can't play he can't play. It Galena but he's costing us out there. If he can't play a productive 25 mins or more then he should not play. Find his rhythm in practice.

I am not sure what he is doing in practice. He was working out by himself and on the side for a long time. Amare has a ton of heart. Some of what he has displayed on the court looks like either a lack of effort or an inability to perform at the speed and pace of the nba. Unfortunately I believe it is the latter.

I am for practice or D-League. He can get rust off there.
Ride him like secretariat until he breaks down. The way he's playing now he would be useless in the playoffs, so it's not logical to save him up to use as some secret weapon. He looks awful, why should we get excited about what he'll look like in the playoffs when he can't handle 5 minutes in a regular season game. He's not going to rise from the grave like Lazarus, as Clyde would say. You play him starter minutes and he either snaps out of it or breaks down and potentially has a case for medical retirement. It's a win-win and you know amare is too prideful to turn down the minutes. People might think it's cold, but it's a business way to look at it, and as Woodson keeps repeating as he slowly pushes shump at the door "this league IS a business"
Anyone hear anything about his meeting today with Woodson? I didn't see anything on twitter.
just play him. he'll need another surgery in a week or two. then the distraction is gone, finally.

Please, this entire team has been having switching problems on defense since Dantoni. Ama're isn't going to get into game time shape until he sees more minutes. The guy is rusty. The way the Knicks are handling him makes me sick. At this point, you need to worry about everyone on this team note playing defense.
they should let him play at least 20 minutes a game ... just to see if he can get in game shape, otherwise what's the point of keeping him "fresh" but unable to play at a level that can help the team ... it remains to be seen if he is able to play at a high level again and if he can stay injury free but right now this is a loss-loss situation for him and the team and it is clearly not working nor evolving after 8 games
Clyde said it best play Amare and let him get into game shape can't worry about injuries if it happens it happens.

I think this is the best approach. No sense in saving him for some mythical moment, he won't be able to perform if he doesn't play. If he breaks down then so be it. The team has already moved on without him so it wouldn't hurt us.
I love Stat but the limited role is basically worthless.

I agree. Unless he decides to retire on his own you have to play him meaningful minutes. Unfortunately I don't think minutes are going to make a difference in his play. I agree though that the Knicks need to see what they have. I also think that they need to bring Tyler back.
Start him. Play him.
Whats there to lose? More games? We are already doing that without him.
