Knicks · Knicks talking Shrump for Rondo... (page 1)

holfresh @ 11/17/2013 6:38 PM
According to a source, Shumpert had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee last July that the Knicks never reported. It is unclear if the unreported surgery could impact his trade value with the desperate Knicks trying to package Shumpert in a number of proposed deals, including one for Boston's Rajon Rondo.

gunsnewing @ 11/17/2013 6:42 PM

Don't want Rondo.
ramtour420 @ 11/17/2013 7:39 PM
Rondo on this team full of offensive in their prime and some past, would average like 15 assists
Clean @ 11/17/2013 8:08 PM
I think rondo will be a mixed bag here.

positives:
fastbreaks will increase dramatically
He has the balls to say no to woody, melo and JR's ISO's.
He can rebound

negatives:
his assists will go down since we don't cut to the hoop and we don't run plays much.
seems to argue with staff and players.
Will mean melo is guaranteed to sign max contact.

u forgot he can defend. The only way this deal happens is if NY takes on Bogans and Wallace's contract. They probably will have to take Lee's too. Wallace doesn't like the city so he would be cut and a waste.

and we'll be throwing in Hardaway and a few draft picks.

Bonn1997 @ 11/17/2013 8:38 PM
and the salaries aren't going to match unless we throw in Tyson or they generously take Amare off our hands.

I like bogans and Wallace as players. Not sure how the salaries work out.
BigDaddyG @ 11/17/2013 8:44 PM
Boston already has Bradley, Lee and Brooks. Can't see Boston doing this deal unless we take on a bunch of bad contracts. Even then, I'm not sure we have the pieces to make the deal work.

That's the reported plan is to trade Amar'e and Felton too. It matches almost perfectly and saves them 15 million in year three. I wouldn't mind it straight up because the knicks can actually cut Wallace and I think Lee then spread their salary. Which is not ideal but its better than having Amar'e on the books.

I am not sure Rondo fits because his lack of long range and free throw shooting. He is Andre Miller with better defense and worse Ft% He can finish at the rim and him and Tyson would work great.

I personally would rather get Thomas and Thompson from Sac town at a lower cost.

Bonn1997 @ 11/17/2013 9:03 PM
I don't want Rondo enough to add any salary to 2015. I'm not crazy about Andre Miller either. He's OK - above average - but not worth adding long-term salary for. It's not like he'd push us to anywhere special.

Papabear Says

I would love to do this deal but as you know Boston hates us and his team mate down in Houston are friends (the coach) and he would help him instead of us. Boston won't do business with us.

What's happening 2015? Another of Dolan's fairytales?

EnySpree @ 11/17/2013 9:13 PM
Doesn't make sense at all guys...Boston hates us. Ainge hates us..... they could use Tyson and Raymond Felton. Marshon Brooks is arguably just as good as Shump. He's not defensively but he is offensively.

And there you go. Lin and Asik man's Alot of sense for them.

Nalod @ 11/17/2013 11:34 PM
Wheres Rondo? Damaged.

Another fan starphuch wish. Whats his contract status? He ready to play?

If he has one year after this why not pull a DRose and get healthy for a contract year?

gunsnewing @ 11/17/2013 11:41 PM
Yea it seems like people forgot he is still out with a torn acl. If you are will to mail in this year for next year with Rondo than I guess we could go that route
