It was essentially copeland, kmart, even novak and melo played spot Center some nights. The effort was there almost every night..

I don't think he feels loyalty to the team anymore so i guess i figured he'd say whatever he wanted, they're gonna trade him anyway. But now I agree with the answer man that it's probably MWP.
Woody has a lot of issues that go beyond the defense. His overall handle on how to use this roster is absent. You can tell he doesn't have a good handle on how to use this roster and we all know he's not a very creative offensive coach either. Poor defense on top of poor offense is not a good combination. The only thing we can hope for is that by some miracle Felton starts playing better on both ends, JR starts to take better shots, pass once in a while and drive to the basket. Hopefully get more out of KMart and hope the team gets hot shooting. This team was built to be a good offensive team. If they don't score the ball they don't have enough defense to just stop teams consistently. Even with Tyson back this team has some holes on D. What does any of this have to do with coming out of camp ready for the season? The guy had all summer to figure out how he wanted to play this year and he was clueless to start the season. There is so much outside of Dolan's edicts where Woody is completely in charge of what is going on. His lineups and rotations. The actual plays he runs or doesn't run. The defensive schemes and attention to detail.
You can't let Woody off the hook for this stuff. He's had FAR easier than many of the previous Knick coaches who had less to work with. Team just never looked well coached to start this season. Guys were bumping into each other and getting in the way on offense. No spacing, ball or player movement. Not enough set plays. Just looks like he rolled the ball out there. We've all seen enough BB in our lives to know when we see a well coached team.

Basketball Games are sometimes won or lost on TALENT and cohesive effort. Your bleating about how a 54 win coach, who has honed his strategies under the best basketball coaches (Holzman, Knight, Daly) in the history of the world, is suddenly brain dead, is ludicrous.

You need a PG who also defends and a coach who will allow the PG to run the offense

Martin and Amare want more playing time. Doc says no. You know if these guys get hurt playing over their minutes they will sue the organization. I think Knicks should get something in writing from these two and throw them out there.

woodson also lost his team here in Atlanta and was ad odds with the GM who wanted him fired in the worst way.. woodson is a good assistant coach...
