but there is a second half and bargs could not keep monroe off the boards or out of the lane... bargs needs to be on the bench.... then end..
It could be worse, we could have just extended melo at 27 million per year and then had this season, at least now we have the chance to see the folly in that strategy before it unfolds.
Murry needs to play tomorrow. Beno hasn't been good.

You know Dolan will give melo his money no matter what.

Not sure what happens with Melo but the guy can't buy a call. Watching Harden a few nights ago get called if the wind ruffled his uniform when he passed guys versus Melo getting worked over is hard to understand.

If the rest of this season plays out like this and dolan extends melo for the max, I think most fans will be done.

If we are like 10-15 games below .500 at the deadline we need to at least explore trade option and try at least to get some 1st round picks and try to gain some cap space for the mext FA class
We hid our defensive weakness with Novak and Copelands 3pt barage. Take the 3's away, and you really get to see what this team is about. Management thought Bargs will fill that 3pt void, but nothing can fill the 3pt machines we used to have last year, and even during Linsanity. Maybe now we can start adding some players (Centers, Forwards and Guards) with defensive lateral quickness. Nobody on this team can guard their man straight up. It's like we are running an escort service. (Right this way sir for an easy 2pts). Not even Shump. Artest might be the best on the ball defender we got, and thats terrible. Combine that with low offensive and defensive IQ.
We have system players coached by a non-system coach!
We have no defensive players, coached by a defensive coach.
And you wonder why Phil Jackson called us sloppy?
The reason why we won so many games last year, is because we still had Mike Dantoni's offensive players, and structure, mixed with Woody's defensive culture. Now we have Woody's offensive players and structure, with the same defensive scheme that didn't work last year. Why would it work this year? I'm starting to agree with guns....It doesn't hurt as much when you expect them to lose.

I don't blame this all on melo, he hasn't been playing that poorly so far, it's just clear he needs better players around him, so this plan of surrounding melo with vet minimum pick-ups is clearly not working

bargs is hardly the problem with this team. he came out with a great first half then the iso-play took him out of the game because he never got the ball. his defense has definitely not been THAT bad.

I like your thinking. Also if Melo keeps logging these minutes the decision will be made easier once Melo has a serious injury
Then again the Knicks will sign him for even more money

Thats because Melo initiates the contact.....Harden doesn't look for contact, rather he's looking to score first, and flop second. Melo is looking for bodies to bowl over. He's the bully man, and everybody knows it, including the refs.
I got into a huge arguement on the court over a guy that tried to play bully ball against me, but called every single play. You're not getting those calls if you initiate the contact. This is not the 80's. Melo's game is too old school. The new school is Hardens ugly azz Euro-Step!

Yes Melo has Oakleyitis. Looking for contact instead of going up strong.
Not sure why they are interviewing Amare.

As long as he's still selling out the Garden he doesn't give a damn

If he really did, he'd say he has to retire as its evident he isnt a NBA player anymore.

This game was lost by poor coaching. You have to take control of your team. If you don't have a great floor leader then you can't just let them do their own thing for much of the game. You have to call the plays and make sure the team knows who is supposed to get the shots. You can't have guys out there bumping into each other and taking bad shots possession after possession. Too much JR and ISO Melo and not enough ball and player movement with great spacing. This was the Pistons!!! A few well executed passes and they would give up a great shot, but we let them off the hook with garbage offense. That's on Woody.
