Lol you guys are talking about the Knicks losing games to get draft picks? Why so we can trade them away for garbage? I'm rooting for the Knicks to implode so badly that attendance rates drop and people stop supporting the Dolan regime. I want Dolan to lose money... its hard but you never know. As a fan and consumer I am sick of this "product" they put out... frankly its just so ridiculous. It's like going to a steakhouse and getting a hotdog. Why would you want to pay $100 for a steak and get a hotdog instead? And Dolan is a big weener. He doesn't know how to make steaks, let the chefs make the steaks and get out the damn kitchen already.

We can only hope it registers with him. But I highly doubt it.
We don't have a draft pick but I agree about Dolan

One small sample size without your starting center to justify why something didn't work is just a knee jerk reaction that Knicks fans are famous for.
You're definitely right that if the belief is based on the 13 games of this season, it's a knee jerk reaction. But if it's based on the 3+ years of the Melo era or the 13 years of Dolan, it's well-supported.

No doubt - it's a long shot but it's our only shot
The final draft pick given up in the Marbury trade turned out to be Gordan Hayward/Paul George.
I would wait until the trade deadline though before deciding to go into blow it up mode though. Right now everyone is at there lowest value so its best to see if Tyson can come back and start to win some games.
Long term it would be best to move whoever we can for future picks and go into 2015 with as much picks and cap space as we possibly can and truthfully thats what any franchise other then the Knicks would do.

Everyone knows Dolan is an idiot but if this team is 11-3 instead of 3-11 these threads don't exist so you make that call. They started hot last year and cold this year. May have slightly overachieved last year and may slightly underachieve this year but everything usually balances out.

Sure, and if we won 5 championships these threads wouldn't exist either

So by this logic you should expect more losing, because last year that team got more wins.
The rooting for losses wont affect Dolan, if anything the team will make a trade just for doing so that wont help them team either.
The best course is to let the entire team ride it out, if they still suck address it all in the offseason with a priority of not resigning melo and hoping bargnani opts out, so he can stay out.
tank next season and hope to hit the lotto in 2015 + cap space.

Those statements were already made with the Curry trade. Noah and Aldridge provide pretty strong evidence that trading draft picks can be a very bad idea. The guy that made those moves made a lot more mistakes until the commissioner stepped in after a sexual harassment law suit. It didn't change Dolan at all. Why would things be different this time? He actually got a star player in the Anthony trade so the outcome already is much better.

Again, I said it's a long-shot but it's our only shot

It's short-term rooting against but long-term rooting for.
You could argue that rooting for the continuation of our mediocre roster is really rooting against the team.
But we all know Dolan doesn't learn ANYTHING. What other baffoon would not only offer up 2 first rounders to the Nuggets, but then not even bother protecting them, when that EXACT SAME BLUNDER cost us LaMarcus Aldridge and Noah back in the Eddy Curry trade?!
Even if we won a total of 3 games this entire season, Dolan would blame someone else and carry on as he always does- max contract for Melo (bargaining against himself is his forte), etc etc

Don't "crush"(pun intended) our hope that Dolan will finally change. The "Star" player you mention is a robin. Robin is useless without batman. The only value melo is bringing right now is higher ticket prices. The 1 year of being good seems like the exception to the decade plus rule that the Knicks must suck. The 1 year we were good we played terrible in the playoffs, where it actually counts.
A truly great series of threads.
With so many tremendous theories being expounded about how
losing games
on purpose is good, what more can be said?
martin, any chance of of just creating a "Blow it Up Now" Forum, and it's little sister forum: "Why Tanking Losing on Purpose Just Losing Would Make Me Feel Good about the Knicks"?
by the way, Top 4 teams in attendance so far:
2014 Attendance Home/Road Overall
RK TEAM ....GMS
1 Bulls .....5
2 Mavericks .9
3 NY Knicks .7
4 Heat ......9
So please keep hoping and praying that things like 3-11 and real fan outrage is going to send a financial message to Mr. Dolan...
Fixed.
No one said anything about losing on purpose.
The team doesn't need to do it on purpose.

Because Isiah was calling the sabotaging shots back then as well as today.
Same mindset of derailing the team. He got the dirt on Dolan this is why he made these
comments: He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
