The presence of Tyson Chandler helped to mask our shortcomings on defense. Without him in the middle, every flaw in coverage results in a good look inside. None of our guards are adequate in solo coverages, hence the switching.
Since his phantom shot defense on ESPN, Andrea Bargnani has invested more effort. Hat is a good thing. However, his ability to be a pest on defense will never be confused with Jared Jeffries.
Jeremy Tyler cannot get here soon enough.
Defense requires athletic ability, tenacity, imposition of presence and alertness. Amare Stoudemire brings none of that.
Play Cole Aldrich. We need defense.
I agree Tyson being out really hurts us but even with Tyson here we would still struggle. Too many guys who dnt play defense and all teh guys who were suppose to bring the offense havent done much so far

Yeah, Tyson is very good but he's not going to turn a bottom 5 into a top 5 team.
Back in the day you simply didn't play if you didn't move the ball, play defense and rebound.
That's why our knicks are losing. Management is interfering with the coach and the coach is simply lost due to his favorites and stupid philosophy.
Knicks need another voice in the locker room and they need management to stay out of the coaches way.
The knicks need to trade Amare and shut him down until then.
They need to search for a point guard. They need to holla at Sacramento for isaiah Thomas.
They need to sign Jeremy Tyler already and get the ball rolling. We need to play toure murry and Aldrich.

Offensive sell tickets and creates great newspaper articles like winning a scoring title, But defense puts fear in opposing teams and wins Championships.
The knicks went with offensive players, not two-way or defensive players.

jrodmc - the passion and positivity of THJr is a halogen flash in an otherwise dreary setting.
Bundle him with a point guard who can play faster than him, with the dribble, and watch the ball matriculate down the court.

Its time to trade Shumpert and get another young player for him and start THjr. He is becoming a great shooter and fits with Melo. We need to get back to what worked last year. Get shooters and defenders around Melo. Felton, JR, and Shump are too inconsistent. THjr and someone solid at PG is all we need.
