Nice to know..but for him to say in the press that he is trying to recruit rondo how does that effect the current pg's we have.
That IMO is not good..your team is struggling and your recruiting..
There's nothing wrong with that. It's not as if we're a title contender but we're screwed now because Felton's feelings are hurt. Hell, maybe if Felton ever bothered to spend an offseason working out we wouldn't be in as bad of a mess as we are.
Of course Melo is recruiting. He said so himself, but while Rondo's name is pretty obvious, it's not like he said it to the media himself. This is what we want. We want him recruiting. Big names attract other big names. Maybe it will light a fire under Felton. If not, we are no worse off. Summer 2015 can't come soon enough for this team.

If any of our PG's think they are comparable to rondo they need mental help. I don't even like melo and I'll admit it seems no matter what he says people will get upset. I couldn't give a fck if chubby Felton gets depressed and binge eats some cupcakes after reading this.
Melo said he wanted rondo in the summer.
He can't come by himself. He has to be traded here. He would have to ask for a trade and Boston would have to agree.
Would be nice but is just fart in the wind at this point

It would likely be in 2015. If not in free agency, then around the trade deadline next season where Rondo pushes a deal in a similar fashion as Melo did.
Its a 12 man roster and there isn't a squad out there that doesn't have some turnover and the players know it. Damned if you do....
2015... so should we just say to hell with till then? We can't keep doing 2010 over and over
Rondo is in his little black book?
Rondo is a fool but he is an upgrade at PG even if he can't shoot.
Doubt we can get him unless he looks like complete trash without Garnett, Allen, and Pierce.
Shump becomes expendable if that's the case. THJ is probably a better fit with Rondo. I'm surprised Rondo and Melo are still tight after the Honey nut Cherios thing.
With our luck, he'll get cited for tampering, which will result in the loss of our picks for a decade. The irony is that Melo might walk and not even have to deal with that penalty, lol.

Probably couldnt do a deal without him. Shump is playing well, that helps. Would prob have to include Murray. They dont want too many old players if any, still a longshot.

It just keeps a plan open. If we can acquire a star somehow and guarantee Melo resigns than that's one approach. Another is to resign Melo and wait to then. The 3rd option is lose Melo, tank and get a high draft pick, then rebuild around that player and the 2015 free agent class.

The key to a deal is taking as many of their bad contracts as possible, which we can do. They would probably want shumpert and THjr for starters, but THjr is a great fit for this team moving forward if we want a core of Melo rondo and chandler.

Wouldn't be surprised if they wanted THJ. Maybe a three team deal might keep that from happening, IDK.

He's an upgrade but I wouldn't give him even half the salary he'd demand. This would be even worse than simply extending Melo would be.

I'm assuming I read the same news sources you did, so how you gathered that it was Melo who said to the press that he is recruiting Rondo is beyond me. He did say he had a little black book this past summer, but he didn't mention any names.
As for this little tidbit you posted, FYI, it was his and Rondo's former coach at Oak Hill, Steve Smith I believe, that said that in an interview. Carmelo was asked about it and he said he can't say anything because "that's tampering".
Next time, try posting a link, and this one was easy, since it's plastered on this website's front page. Oh wait, that's right..it didn't provide the statements you posted...how convenient.
