Knicks · Saw that game coming... (page 1)

...When I watched Denver being brutalized by Boston a few days ago. They were down by 25 pts at some point and only came back because their bench is insane... But I was amazed at how prepared and focused the celtics were. I watch Denver a lot so I know how they play and Boston was doing exactly what was needed to frustrate them. They had a gameplan to neutralize the opposing team and they stuck to it all game long.

Hats off to their coach, the guy is impressive and has his players playing as a team.

Knicks have a great coach so no worries. Woody will adjust.
ApophisADL @ 12/8/2013 2:25 PM
Boston isnt going anywhere. They are playing carefree. Everyone expects them to be bad.
nixluva @ 12/8/2013 2:26 PM
When you see young coaches like Vogel, Vaughn and Stevens it just makes it more obvious that Woody is not a great BB mind. These guys are showing so much talent as the new vanguard of coaching.

Jordan Crawford has been very inpressive. I always thought he a hot/cold sixth man type.

I'd respectfully disagree, they're a rebuilding team with their best player soon to come back.

This is how their salary structure looks like for the next 3 years

$71,631,723
$48,206,135
$24,980,85

You also have to take into account the 3 first rounders they will get from the Nets in 2014, 16 and 18.

Then they have Rondo that they could trade for a pretty nice package.

So I would say they are doing just fine.

What I don't get is why don't they use more a Melo Stat PnR, it seems really hard to guard and always puts the Defense in trouble.
This I can't really wrap my head around.

Also, while there were all of the reports last summer about what a bad teammate Rondo was there also were reports about how he took the young guys under his wing and mentored them. Apparently that has continued. Maybe with added responsibility he becomes the leader instead of the little brother to the big two/three.

Yea and another great young coaching mind. He's doing a nice job with a young team devoid of much talent

Statistically Melo in ANY PnR is his most efficient BB play. It makes no sense for this team to not be using it more and more. Also the team is slow to recognize what is working and what isn't. Woody has to be the one to make the call if he sees that a certain play is or isn't working. It just reaffirms the point that a coach has to be on the ball in these games and in practice making sure the team works on the things that work best.

They're never ready on Sundays. Wake me up when they reach .500

Wasn't Crawford the Celtic player who tried to antagonize Melo at the end of a game in the playoffs? There was a GIF of it or something, with him saying something like "this man f***ed your wife", despite not having contributed anything to the win.

Celtics are set for the future- those Nets picks are going to be good ones for 3 years!

as poor as this season has gone, i woulda hoped this level of play would be abated just a little bit.

The last two Celtics win before the knicks, Jordan Crawford scored 63 pts shooting 63% fg.

For the season he's shooting 45% from the field.

Sometimes players get hot for a while. Wes Matthews has been shooting 50% from 3 since the beginning of the season (about 10pts more than his career average).

All the more reason as a coach that you'd point that out to your team and make some kind of adjustment defensively to make sure a teams hottest player doesn't go off. Defense is supposed to be Woody's strength. I'm not seeing adjustments or awareness or just flat out showing your displeasure when the team isn't giving effort. You've got to do something!!!

I don't get that some of you guys are surprised we didn't defend him well, I mean, it's teh same team that let Ryan Anderson erupt for like 30pts in a half a few games ago.

The team is bad, the defense sucks hard and the coach is lost. Chandler hid a lot of our flaws but as long as he's out, things will remain ugly.
