You build your initial comment on sand, and the rest of your argument tends to follow.

TH Jr is something to smile about. This Happy Case is closed.

Picking up right where he left off in college, Hardaway Jr. has been a reliable perimeter scorer who can really shoot the ball (43 percent 3s) and someone willing to play through contact offensively. Hardaway, the 24th pick, has significantly outplayed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, whom Detroit took 8th overall, and who has not defended or shot especially well. It would be a big plus for Hardaway if he improved his pick-and-roll game, because he possesses a similar skill set as embattled shooting guard, J.R. Smith.

Match THJr with a point guard who can push the tempo, against any opposition, and the entire playing personality of our beloved Knicks changes for the better.

A clone of Michael Carter Williams would be ideal.

Offensively, I have to agree with you. THJ is a keeper. But Damn! His defense looks very Knick-like. From missed assignments, to being blown right by, he's got a ways to go.

Please Not THJr

According to a source, several teams — including the Raptors — have inquired about rookie Tim Hardaway Jr., who becomes eligible to be traded on Dec. 15. That’s a pivotal date for trade talks heating because it’s when draft picks and 2013 free agents — such as J.R. Smith, Metta World Peace and Beno Udrih – can be traded.

What did everyone feel and think about the rookie years of .....

Iman Shumpert
Fields
MosGoV

Jordan Hill

Gallo
Wilson Chandler
Nate Robinson
TD

Channing Frye
Trevor Ariza

and

then their 2nd/3rd years, and eventually now vs their potential you originally thought for them?

Judging from our recent/past history, we should not get too excited about, any rookie here in NYK

Chances are, they will likely get traded or moved to another team
Players generally perform and DEVELOP their abilities/potential better than they do as a Knick

Learn from our history, don't get too excited for our young talent, especially when they are ROLE PLAYERS
The biggest heart break is that we always MOVE THEM with little in return for them, USUALLY SELLING AT THEIR LOW if not ALWAYS while OVERPAYING for some crap player
While the picks we usually give up, tend to become either good, solid, or great players (or players picked after)

In other words, WE NEED stability where it counts most, our management and president, with a coach, development coaches to value our youth
Most importantly, where they can work TOGETHER with a plan, without being undermined by what MR. Dolan thinks he and his friend knows about BBALL and players

Dolan stay away and hire people that can do the job right and allow them to do their job because you and your buddy Isiah continue to make a mess after mess that is costing us and cost us 20years of doom, when is it enough to admit you have NO CLUE about how to run a Sport's Organization or a business, YOU ARE NOT MARK CUBAN....

This is why I'm confused when folks talk about the knicks trade away draft picks too much what the difference when the player they draft will be traded in a yr or 2.

markvmc @ 12/12/2013 8:34 PM
You guys might want to think about some of the players other teams drafted with our picks.

Yep. One is in consideration for the mvp at this point
grillco @ 12/13/2013 11:07 AM
He won't last long enough to get any brighter in NY. I swear Dolan would have traded Pippen...hell, maybe even Jordan for Bird given the chance.

What's so funny?

He's better than Shump! I think the dude has real potential. He's going to get better. Don't be surprised if the kid is a starter next year. Klay Thompson son.

edit: ok maybe not klay Thompson but maybe cuttino mobley? I keep thinking of him

THJr looks like a man of character. Because of this I believe in him as future solid NBA player.
And for this very reason he has no place in NY. Dolan cannot take any man of character on this organization.
He will brake the man (Shrump) or send him packing.

CrushAlot @ 12/14/2013 10:42 PM
Wally just said he thinks hardaway has a shot at rookie of the year.
nixluva @ 12/14/2013 11:13 PM
THJ was a good pick and tho some thought he was the wrong guy and didn't have much upside, I think he's showing that he's got legit talent. Sure he's prone to mistakes and still has a lot to learn, but he also has flashed this year and shown his talent. He finishes better than Shump. Glad to see Woody playing him in key moments of the game. He'll get better with experience.

I'll be even happier when we finally bring in Tyler and give Murry some run.

He definitely appears to be a very good pick. I think with all the Knicks needs at the time it was puzzling to address the two guard spot in the draft when they had Shump and Jr. Now it seems like a very good move.

CrushALot - we have a new sixth man and he does things the Hardaway.

Three crazy things to make everyone in orange (not the unis) and blue feel better.

1. If 57 year old Pablo can channel his Fountain of Yoot into 30 minutes a night, perhaps his basketball knowledge will rub off on his running busdy, IMan Shumpert.

2. If the remaining healthy bodies can circle the wagons unti Tyson Chandler returns... not fall apart... learn to trust each other a skoobtch more... and and win a few games, the Knicks will have endured a blast furnace of insults and rumors. They will be stronger for it.

3. If Mike Woodson can bust his pet project, JR's chops... he can bust anyone's chops. The prime directive is in effect. Order is restored. "You suck. You sit."

Are we having fun yet?

misterearl @ 12/15/2013 10:08 AM
Bootleg Alert

Silverfuel - "Agreed! He is good with moving the ball, good player. We cannot trade him."

EnySpree - "The man can shoot. He's not afraid and he plays hard and with heart. He possesses a killer instinct. He will improve because he understands his legacy. He knows people talk and he wants to be more than just timmys son."

What took you two so long?

misterearl @ 12/16/2013 8:43 AM
Best Five Play

“It’s not a thing of benching (JRSmith), Timmy (Hardaway) was playing pretty good basketball.”

- Head Coach Mike Woodson

Yes, we have our new sixth man.

jrodmc @ 12/16/2013 10:53 AM
JR can ice his knee better while sitting, occassionally standing to wave the towel at THjr's highlight reel dunks and threes. I had been liking the few passes to Bargs (or was it just one?)

So the agency doesn't run the coach after all.

4 in a row for Christmas day, Santa. Please. Want some Holiday happiness before a possible massacre by the OK Corral.

Hardaway Jr. is second on the team in scoring per 36 minutes with 16.7 points. That's 3.7 points higher than Smith and more than double Shumpert's per-36 minute scoring average (8.2).

Hardaway Jr. also has the best shooting percentage among Knicks guards. His shooting percentage (47.9 percent) is behind only Tyson Chandler, Amar'e Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin on the team's leaderboard. Furthermore, Hardaway has the lowest turnover percentage on the team (a stat that measures a player's turnovers per 100 plays).

The rookie's big hangup right now is on defense. Defense can be difficult to quantify statistically because one player's results are dependent on his teammates. But Hardaway Jr. has the worst defensive rating (an estimate measure of points allowed per 100 possessions) on the Knicks.

So the former Michigan star's defense is one factor to consider when thinking about a potential increase in minutes. He's currently playing 17.9 per game.
