They beat the Cs pretty good and JJ and Pierce did not play well--but Deron Williams did. If they find health and sustain it--theyll get this division with ease. Deron Williams if healthy is a differentiator that no team in the Atlantic can beat over 82.
i'll take the knicks with Tyson over any variation of the Nets with Kidd coaching. The knicks are really bad right now, but they're not going to be out of the division race by the time Tyson gets back. It's the worst division I've ever seen and the Nets are just as pathetic as we are.
They should be. How did the Knicks not draft Brook. The guy is the second best center in the east and possibly in the league.

Nope not with a healthy Deron. Totally different team. He controlled the Cs tonight and that was with Pierce and JJ playing poorly. A good PG like that can control games and he got lOpez great looks--thats a devastating combo--if they can get everyone on the same page the talent FAR surpasses anyone in the Atlantic. I wouldnt mix the Knicks in there--the Knicks are one of the 5 worst teams in the league--they have NO backcourt which is critical.

Johnson hit some big shots and has been big for them. Kidd is not a good coach though. He is a brilliant athelete but he is nj/bk's version of Magic Johnson coaching and he has a stacked roster. The nets core is the same as last year, JJ, Bropez, and Dwill. Not sure about the celtic guys. There is some speculation that they saw Frank as their coach and I have heard that Garnett may have bee part of the problem. The nets may end up better then the dysfunctional mess that Dolan created but that may not be saying much.
with the possible exception of the Bucks and the Jazz, everyone is much better than the Knicks.
Nets still suck though.

Until the next foot injury puts him out for half the season and most of the playoffs.

I'm as down on these guys as anybody cuz I've wasted money on 4 tix this year, but its the same backcourt as last year minus a 40 year old Jason Kidd and add in THjr. WTF happened?

Jason Kidd played like an all star the first 30 games or so. Guys like Bargs Ron Artest and Udirih have changed complexities of the team. Ray Felton is a year older--hes portly and now is showing signs of slowing down with injury. JR Smith looks much different from last yera as he had major surgery. Pablo is now 36 years old. Udirih is slow. We have no continuity with Amare and Martin. Actually our best 3 pt shooter is 21 year old THJ. This team has aged poorly and has little continuity. Its a bad team----weve down just enough to flip the record.
My suggestion is dont buy any tickets my suggestion to any knick fan is stay away from the tickets why pay so much to get back so little--send a message. Complain at a minimum.
Much better? Not sure I agree. They are slow and play worse defense than us. But yes they are better, at least they can run a competent offense with DWill and Lopez.

This team ran through Melo and JR all year. They just aren't having the same year as last year. It's a trickle down effect. When you rely on 1 or 2 guys to carry you, and they fail, everyone suffers. Prigioni is the exact same player he was last year. This team doesn't get the same looks because nobody is double teaming Melo when he's not playing well. That and with the losing streak this team is probably demoralized and doesn't have the same energy.
I agree Nets are better.
The thing about Kidd is he has to learn and could get much better. Many pundits saw a rough start.
They have much more upside than knicks, but for both teams there is a lot of season left.
I always thought pierce off the bench makes sense. Its not how youstart, its how youfinish.
Nets looking good again--still players are not all on the same page--but they have a lot of weapons and are starting to play some D whaling a good LAC team.

I think you see what the Nets potentially have if all their guys are healthy and get some time together.
I can't say that we have seen that out of the Knicks with the exception of 1-2 games here this year.

The NY Knicks dont have good guards.
The Nets are starting their surge.

If the Nets can give up Jason Terry 3mm and a number 1 pick in 2020 for Lowry they will solidify their roster a bit.

No the Nets are not dealing. They are just finding their footing so they will not deal. They were never involved with the Lowry deal. That was Raptors trying to fleece the Knicks.

nets looked like a different team because there was competent PG on the floor. something the knicks are lacking right now.
