The momentum change as soon as Beno stepped on the court...Our back court was 3-20 tonight..Prigs won't even take a wide open layup after a nice pass from Melo...Knicks need to make a decision with Shump..His head is fked...He is either here or ship him out...JR, can't be explained..Melo logging too many minutes..He can't keep this up all season..Last time I saw this was with MDA and Amare..Two years later Amare is trying to make it back..U can't run Melo into the ground...I have said this before, Grunwald did a horrible job addressing our back court situation in the off season...I still won't give up the ranch for Lowry, but man we need him...
OH i'd give them Felton, Shump and MWP for Lowry!!!! We can't keep watching this team limp along with no PG. Also WTF with not playing Murry a little? We'll never know if he can help if we just trot Beno out there every night and let him screw up the chemistry.
We had this game and all they had to do is go into Hakeem Mode with STAT in the paint. SIMPLE!!!

Thats not really a negative, Woodson is not a championship coach.
It's a negative if you think Woodson and the Knicks were sabotaged with the grunwald firing and keeping Chris on the roster. A lot of funky sh@t has gone on this year. Add injuries and the ridiculously poor play of jr, shump, Felton, and amare for the first 2/3 of this season. What coach can win with minute and game restrictions on their bigs. At this point I am not sure that it matters what happens to Woodson. He never should have fired his agent. Once he showed he would compromise his character to keep his job he has been manipulated and put in compromised positions by the owner.

I wouldn't give up Shump alone for Lowry..This team isn't winning anything..Why panic..

I can't believe they never went back to him after he hit that elbow jumper. He was the one guy doing anything and we needed to get high % baskets. That is absolutely HORRID coaching. Plus JR SUCKS on D, so why was he in there? He makes nothing but dumb mistakes and takes awful shots.
I think jr was in because he is less pathetic then shump. The stuff about stat is a team problem. They just weren't moving the ball and had no flow.
Dude I know you want to try and be fair to Woody but he flat SUCKS!!!! There's no other coach that would allow his team to fail over and over again to get the ball to their highest % big in the post. Why the F was STAT on the floor if they were just gonna ignore him. As coach you have to pull your team aside and point that ish out to them. What else is Woody there for if not to do that??? NO F'N EXCUSE!!!
Be honest. You want to crush him. Where those crushing comments in game threads when dantoni was the coach.

Crush, don't deflect blame here. Woody had this game in his LAP!!! STAT was 7-9 and clearly the best man on the floor. STAT is your most efficient player and you mean you can't call for post ups for STAT when they haven't stopped him all night? That's not about the players that's F'd up coaching. What else is he on the sidelines for if not to make sure that you go to your best advantage. What does Woody do? Allow them to go ISO to a tired Melo and take a bunch of other bad shots. IT WAS RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF HIM!!!!
#knickstape huh?

Ain't no pencil gonna get this playable again.

Melo brought the team back from down 17...

I rather see Murry or Shump play defense on the best guard. Smith doesn't have it going on offense or defense. Thats what money and drugs do to you. It cripples your potential. And all this losing is only causing JR and others to continue their off the court activities to help with the pain.
JR has his money, so he's not hungry anymore.

Don't try and change the subject. There's no excuse for this crap. We know he has issues with his roster, but that doesn't mean he should just stand there and do nothing. MDA had TD go in after a time out and completely forget the play he called, that's not what is happening here. Woody still had Prigs, Melo, STAT, Bargs and JR on the floor. That's not a team bereft of talent. They lost cuz of DUMB BB. WOody stood there and allowed them to go right back into ISO MODE and totally ignore calling a clear out post for STAT. STOP TRYING TO COVER FOR WOODY!!! That was TERRIBLE coaching.

bingo!
Agree.
You guys are NUTS. We just watched this team in a game they CLEARLY would've won if they had a PG like Lowry to do to. Shump being here or not won't make a difference, but adding Lowry would. That's a certainty. This team needs another PG and a NEW COACH!!! Someone who won't be married to playing JR even when he's stinking up the joint.
Calm down guys, how are we supposed to beat a team that's only 3 games under .500, and running away with our division?
How many more panic trades can we stand...Strickland for Mo Cheeks...Ariza for Stevie Franchise...
holfresh wrote:How many more panic trades can we stand...Strickland for Mo Cheeks...Ariza for Stevie Franchise...
Well it's a legit need and he's a better defender than Felton. We really don't need MWP or Shump as bad as we need a PG. It's not a bad deal in terms of addressing a need. If we're not giving up a future pick, then I say do it.
I'll give you this. If they could sign a young PG from the D League i'd accept that if they don't want to make a trade.
holfresh wrote:How many more panic trades can we stand...Strickland for Mo Cheeks...Ariza for Stevie Franchise...
Yea it's ridiculous. This team is a joke. I'm amazed anyone can be hopeful enough to even propose trade ideas on this board. This organization is an embarrassment to everyone who calls themselves a Knicks fan.
We are the NBA's Washington Generals.
I'm sorry for the outburst… the Knicks don't have enough integrity to be compared to the Generals.
Clean wrote:I am starting to think Woody wants to be fired. I can not believe someone can look at the STATs and say run more ISO's. We run ISO's more than any team in the league and get the lowest percentage of ISO's leading to a score. There is no way he can be that bad of a coach.
Well....Stat said Woody gives them a game plan, but when it's time to play or especially during crunch time, the players defer to the best player, which is Melo. And Melo's main offensive gift is ISO ball. So it's Woody and the players them selves. Woody and really any coach needs a PG that knows how to control the game and become an extention of the coach. Which is why Jason Kidd was so important to this team, even when he was shooting bad. He was providing a voice for Woody.
If Melo is a real superstar, with leadership qualities and a voice for the coach while in the game, we wouldn't have this problem. This is why I can't see building around Melo when he's the lead dog. He's not batman....He's robin who needs a batman to make him look good. That college championship got to his head thinking he can lead any team to a championship. He had a great coach and solid role players, against college level talent. It hasn't worked so far in the NBA when he's the lead guy. This is why him and JR was traded. They are both streaky ISO jump shooters.
It's also not Woody's fault for the makeup of this team. You can spread the blame across multiple players, owners, ect....Finding the problem is easy....Finding the solution is the key!
I've said from day one, the Knicks need to stop this free agent rebuilding stuff for years, and build thru the draft. But when your owner is a billionaire, you are impatiently willing to over pay for damaged goods or overrated talent. And that will continue to happen as long as Dolan is the owner. Dolan needs somebody with a basketball mind that he can trust. These yes men he hires is not helping.

Melo basically said the same thing as Stat. Also, Hahn and Wally were talking about how they let the shot clock run down to 8 and then give the ball to Melo hoping he can do something. Not sure what the fix is.
