Knicks · Gasol for tyson and jr? Broussard (page 2)

D'Antoni believes Gasol's rationale of being less aggressive is an excuse.

"That's a classic, 'Well, I don't know what I'm supposed to do,'" D'Antoni said. "Well, you don't have trouble getting up to the pay-stub line. They know what to do there to get the check. So obviously you know what to do. They will."

Great communicator with the media. Have to wonder if he has said anything to gasol or if he is just putting the gm in a spot where he has to move him. He never talked to guys he tired of or didnt want to deal with in ny.

No way in hell I trade Tyson for Gasol. Did we already forget how much of a beast Tyson was at the start of the season. Also why are we always ready to give up to farm for expiring players? as fans we have to value our assets a little more.

7pts, 10 rebs 2 blocks is hardly beasting. He got better yes but he was not beasting

You know as well as the next person you can not only go by stats with tyson. Chandlers first year here he was a beast also and managed to average something like 10 and 10.

The one game with injury hurt his stats. He's at 10 points, 12 rebound 3.4 blocks per 36. That kind of production is not replaceable.

I love what Chandler brings, always been a fan of his, but he is high risk. Has had nagging injuries his whole career. End of last season and playoffs he was completely broken down. While I like him as a player, if he can't physically come to play when they need him, what is the point. New Orleans had a similar problem with him on the CP3/West team. They really need to consider trying to get something for him while they can, even if is getting cap space to retool.

Tyson played 4 games... his numbers would have tape r ed off to what he's been doing his career.

y2zipper @ 12/15/2013 12:39 PM
I think you take that. They get Chandler and you force them to take JR's 4 years and clear money sooner. Chandler's out in a year and a half anyway with the roster purge and Knicks have a one-year window to be terrible with their own pick.

That may or may not be true but it has nothing to do with Clean's comment that Tyson was beasting.

Clean wants Woodson to apologize to Shump for some reason. So I don't think anything has to do with what that guy is saying

I'll tell you this. With Melo, Gasol and Kyle Lowry (potentially), ball movement would improve ten-fold. You keep Hardaway somehow? Money.
Nalod @ 12/15/2013 1:14 PM
We trying to rid our selves of JR ALREADY!!!! Jeez, we just resigned him!!!!!!

This clearing for cap thing again? one 54 win season and its time to start over again?

Color me somber.

I don't know about moving Tyson to achieve that goal but when a guy doesn't shoot to get back at his coach and possibly costs his team a game when his coach's job is in jeopardy I think you get him out. Woodson got a lot out of him. Its not happening and his character issues don't seem to be fixable. The guy posted on twitter, 'you all still mad?'. Come on now.

If we can get an additional 2 guard with this--Im down. I think Chandler is over rated and a chemisitry breaker here--getting rid of JR Smith. With Gasol Amare Carmelo BargsMartin upfront and lowry Hardaway Felton prigs and another 2 guard in the back--the team has a much better chance of winning many games. Lakers throw us back Xavier henry--nad their 2014 2nd rounder ill do it

Guys act like we cant live without certain players. We get gasol were going to laugh about when we had Tyson. Gasol is having a down year and he hates his coach..... but still putting up his normal numbers....

bargs, melo, gasol, lowry, hardaway? Amare playing the way he has. Maybe call up Jeremy. Priggy of the bench...the knockdown would be alright. By the deadline the early season misery will be a after thought

Nalod @ 12/15/2013 1:31 PM
Gasol with MDA is not a good fit.

Pau-Barg's-Melo front line with Lowrey and Hardaway?

from a pedestrian stance, it ain't like 6-16 is working so what the hell!

Also, while LA is trying to rebuild around Kobe I think his new deal handcuffs them a bit in regards to free agency. Getting Tyson would be a good move for them. Also it probably assures that Melo doesn't end up in LA.

This is the definition of selling low. One guy has a broken leg and the other is in the worst stretch of his career.
And I thought that after everything that's unfolded, you would have realized the importance of scoring efficiency (see guys like Chandler) and stopped overrating volume scoring (Melo and Bargs)

Yeah but it's a pointless clearing of $21 mil since we'd still be over the cap.

I think it would be to get rid of JR since he has 2 or 3 years after season. Am I wrong about the # of years?

Regardless, it's a waste since we have no pick now..

Dagger @ 12/15/2013 3:11 PM
Why the hell would we want Gasol. At first I thought this was about Marc but now I see it's about his soft as Kleenex brother. Tyson is much better than Gasol and we have him under contract so why on Earth would we trade him for a Gasol rental. JR is a bum but I don't hate him nearly enough to trade Tyson chandler for 2013 Pau Gasol...
