This association with Mckinsey--I mean WTF kind of joke is it. How about go give money to Sam Presti and see what happens. Paying a marketing company milions to say no people you are not really seeing what you are seeing it will all get better in 2017. just keep buying tix.
McKinsey isn't a marketing company, it's a consulting firm.

Whats the difference consulting the Knicks on what? We need the best GM thats who we need to consult with
I really thought Glen Grunwald was a good gm. I thought that he got and understood the new cba and made his moves based on the handicapped situation the Knicks were in well. Moving him out for a more progressive, new idea gm was a bunch of bull.

Or, they should hire:

Dolan might be at least willing to get some feedback of at least getting some truth as to what the fuck is going so wrong with the franchise. Granted its easy for fans to second guess him but he is trying to maintain a high level of starphedness to keep sales and viewership up and is scared/reluctant to rebuild. Fans do lap up his bullshyt but will come a time when the nets evolve and steal the city from the knicks. Oh, you can say "nets always suck, always will" but in the current course of action Dolan is REACTIONARY to the Nets ambitions and making a mess of things. Nets have a higher ceiling with its current team. Im not saying they will win a chip with it, and im not saying they might be freaking nuts to spend what they are spending but Kidd will only get better, and the talent is there.
Dolan hiring these guys cannot hurt. I see the rehiring of Steve Mills as an attempt to restructure the organization using "Metrics" in some fashion and use some formula to win both on the balance sheet and on the court. All in all its likely to not translate to roster but to the organization of management. WHo knows just how bad things are behind closed doors. Its a closed paranoid organization that we only get a glimpse of its dysfunction.
Typical move of corporate bureaucrats.
Usually last ditch effort to keep getting their big compensation for a while longer.
I do not think this is initiated by Dolan. Most likely by top management.
They may recommend to outsource operation to China to cut cost...
Like perform National Anthem in Mandarin
they're going to polish the turd!
You guys are not making sense. you bring in these guys to evaluate profitability and how the organization is run.
How it translates to how the product is put on the floor remains to be seen. Dolan has to approve this. He does not have to take their recommendations but one problem at MSG is nobody can tell this guy anything as they are afraid for their jobs. IF this is the case, then it has to be addressed. Likewise Dolan has to decide if he'll make changes.
If AnuchaGate told us anything its MSG is dysfunctional. The Larry Brown debockle, the Isiah disaster, Hire donnie then ignore him, etc etc.......
Maybe Dolan in hindsight realizes the process is not right. Duh.
He could have called me years ago.
It's yet another voice in an already crowdied organization- who the heck's in charge these days? We have:
Dolan
Mills
Houston
that ex Denver GM, Mark something
The coach (Woody is a spent force, but I guess the next coach will want a say in operations)
The metrics people we plan on hiring
this consultancy firm
Its ridiculous! Who comes up with the strategy?! I get that Dolan interferes and over rules people, but is he also now meant to be coming up with the over riding strategy? If this consultancy firm actually knew anything they would have told him to back off and get a proper GM and stop meddling.
Does anything with this shitty franchise come as a shock anymore.
Dolan actually said that he couldn't bring Isiah back because he didn't feel like fans would give him a fair shot? Right there is why we are going to the lottery. A guy that turned this team into a national joke averaging 25 wins during his tenure can't get a fair shake.
Never understood why he didn't just say here is 10MM a year to Presti, West, RC Buford, etc and allow them to create something.

Dolan basically is now our GM- I'm not even joking.
Just in case anyone didn't know it, PUBLIC RELATIONS = PROPAGANDA.
