Positions needed to upgrade for Knicks
==============================================
PG (legit starter or quality backup, we have 3rd string PG's (Pablo, Udrih) or a backup at best in Felton)
SF, with SF/PF versatility (starting quality or on the bench)
Backup C, after Chandler we have only Alrich who is a 3rd string at best, without a legit backup C
backup PF
and a younger mold at PF like a poor man's Hickson/Speights
I have said in the past that I like both James Johnson (picked up by Grizzlies from Dleague recently, and Malcolm Thomas as SF/PF's, especially because we don't have a LEGIT SF on our roster
Both players were once part of the DEF organization/development players of the Chicago Bulls, while Johnson was the 16th pick in 2009 draft and Thomas was undrafted
I have been big on very high on James Johnson because of his size, versatility, age, potential, and defensive abilities
At 6-9/6-10, 250pds+, with great reach, and decent athleticism, having him in addition to our core of DEF players as the glue, would have a multiple effect on our DEF, even as a role player

On DEF, if we actually used, a lineup to had the abilities to defend, we wouldn't have loss to the Wizards, playing Udrih on Beal in addition to the lack of shot blockers/help defenders is on Woodson
Murry (PG) Why hasn't Murry been able to at least get a chance to play DEF and build his confidence his amazing with the injuries we have and had
Iman (SG)
James Johnson (F)
Melo (F, defending whoever that would be easier for Melo to defend while he could use his STRENGTH)
AB, Kmart/Chandler (C)
Stephen Jackson had been signed by the Clippers after their injuries and had been working hard after the split with The Spur's late last season, to once again prove his value in the league
There are many great scorers at the wing position's with great size/strength and they have G's skills versatility, we have trouble defending Lebron James, Paul George, Durant, Harden, are just to name a few
San Antonio continues to find CHEAP young talent with good potential, that they can continue to develop on their roster, the same was once for
Danny Green, Gary Neal, and Stephen Jackson (one of the key players that helped them wing a Championship before he was known as "Captain Jack"
Having quality role players and YOUNG talents are important to a roster because their value's at a a low contract can greatly surpass their potential
In general, players that have to WORK and develop their games, will work harder and have a multiple effect on the TEAM
Young cheap talent on the roster for Spurs, on the 2 most important roster spots with depth and potential on the PG and C
PG/ Combo guards

Patty Mills
Nando De Colo
Cory Joseph
Centers

Jeff Ayres
Aron Baynes
I would blow this team up, while getting as many expirings/young talent/draft picks, all in a timely matter so we don't sell low on all of our players, trade both Felton/JR and whoever would limit our cap space for 2015, and have interest in both Lin and Asik in the meantime
Yes, we don't own our picks this year but we do own our own 1st round pick in 2015, it doesn't matter because Melo will leave for NOTHING in return (and paying him would not make us better in the long run at a contract he would desire)
