Amen, Dolan's an idiot and anyone else is a genius.
If there is one superlative Knicks fans take to heart over any other—accurate or not—it's this: They’re the smartest basketball fans anywhere.
just ask tkf or most anyone on this board...
Great article. 1) get rid of melo the team cancer, undo all other mistakes of the past. 2) sign Lebron, 3) sign great draft picks 4) add water, stir 5) win some chips

I don't know about the Knicks but here's how I'd look:

Surprisingly, I thought that the Dolan family was worth more than $3.3 billion. Maybe there is a chance that we can buy their sport empire from them. It would be nice if the city (aka the government) started an initiative to acquire the Knicks, Rangers and all sport related assets away from them like GreenBay did with the Packers did a while back. It would be great to have all those profits channeled back into the community and also nice to be done with the Dolans.

Not sure that was the point of the article. The article certainly did not claim "anybody" else would be a better owner. I'm sure there are plenty of boneheads out there who could muck it up just as well as Jimmy. OK, so it may seem obvious to us that rebuilding from the "bottom up" would be a welcome strategy after 10 years of starphucking has resulted in utter failure. Yeah, it may be obvious to us, the more than casual fan however it certainly isn't obvious to Dolan and the rest of his automatons.
And secondly, how can anyone possibly even hint at not laying the lions share of blame on Dolan at this point? I seriously want to hear the explanation for that.

Article was spot on..
Patience means not giving up the farm—and the future—for Carmelo Anthony when free agency is four months away.
Patience means not taking your rivals' gambits as a green light to give away three draft picks for a draft-day disappointment.
Bingo!!

I would be dancing like this kid

Nice to dream. But come back to reality !!!! Dolan is here and he ain't going anywhere. Maybe in 50 years when his kids take over. But keep on dreaming.

I found this this interesting:
I was just watching Melo's interview with Ahmad Rashad on NBATV and he said that he always thought it would be a rebuilding process for the Knicks because they took a few steps back to get him.

So if his goal is to win a championship, is he willing to take less to bring more on board ?

The only way I can see him doing that is if he had commitment from another big name FA behind the scenes. Even then I still think it's a long shot though.

LOL!!! Really, he actually said that??? He could've stop all that from jump by waiting for free agency. Better yet, if our owner had just went to Oz and got a brain, he would've waited till free agency, and if Melo didn't want to wait, BYE!!! Cracks me up how he played a major part to gut the team then complain he don't have help and that the light at the end of the tunnel is dim cause we lack flexibility!

he is a jackass , I hate this dude, really I hate him in a way that I have never hated any player in sports.. he is a dumb ass donkey loser... a selfish prick jack ass... first of all no team that is rebuilding signs a late 20's broken knee player to 100 mil and then trades all of its assets for a flawed max jerk off chucker... rebuilding involves having picks and assets... I would love to put him on a boat and set it out to sail never to come back..

I was looking for more from the article - like going back over every starphuch move, and what we could have had if we had simply stayed the course- and the kind of talent we would have been in a position to draft- so undo the McDyess trade and draft Nene- or anyone that might have been projected at that pick. Same for Eddy Curry and LaMarcus Aldridge, etc. etc..
We've probably burned more talent this way than any other franchise in the last 20 years...
