Knicks · Dolan met with the team Thursday... (page 2)

maybe this helps guys like Shump who are struggling.

As for coaches - I tend to think we need a different voice - any voice for that matter- in hear to try to get through to the players.

Better that we don't screw things up worse with starphuch trades- but I worry as this may mean Melo gets resigned when he opts out.

Dagger @ 12/27/2013 3:37 PM
I understand all you guys saying this keeps us from getting fleeced in more trades, but will you really be watching the games with this same shitty roster and vegetable head coach 20 games from now? 30 games? Without change this season I see no reason to watch as the team cruises to a .300 winning percentage. It's not like we have many young players to watch as they develop, so why keep tuning in?
knicks1248 @ 12/27/2013 3:42 PM
The problem with woodson isn't that he's a bad coach, it's that no ones listening

If he tells his team to stop shooting jumpers, they do the opposite, if he tells his team to stop switching, they do it for a few possessions and then start switching, if he tells his team to move the ball, the pass it to melo, wait til he gets double or triple team and hope he passes out.

He's hell bent on playing big, with a small ball system, he gets no effort from this group becuase he's to soft on his core players..

Dolan obviously feels that outside distractions are clouding the players judgement, and effecting there effort and mind set. I don't knock him for talking to the team, but that was not media worthy, because if some team comes at him with a good deal, he looks like a fool..

Exactly, it may calm down the more jittery players, but it ties his hands unnecessarily. The drawbacks are greater than the rewards in my opinion. The phone lines should ALWAYS be open, even if just to hear the other side out.

#1 reason we lost out on deron williams playing in MDA's system, not melo.

playa2 @ 12/27/2013 5:25 PM
I've been saying all along that Dolan has Isiah telling him what to freaking do, he himself doesn't know basketball just marketing controversy like nypost back cover drama.

This should calm a few players down and even those who were highly upset, truly because nobody really wants to leave NYC. Even Prigioni wanted to stay in NY after the players went from moving the ball to Iso ball last yr.

There are so many benefits of playing in NYC , but with out all the interference. I expect the Knicks to play more team ball, with players LEARNING to trust each other believing nobody will be traded away.

Tonight is a good test to gauge how much influence Isiah has with the players via James Dolan.

Jim is getting the band back together.

Dolan did the right thing...There is no reason to give away more picks for lateral moves..We can't compete with Indy or the Heat...It's better to get Shump's head back in the game...Have Shump handle the ball a little more and work some plays in for him...

Dolan is a Moron. Don't give him too much credit for doing the obvious. This team is toast, though I hope for more.

He's not that much of a moron..His stock tripled since it went public..Knicks are the highest value franchise in basketball...His team sells out the arena annually..We might be the morons...

Not holding it against him. I'm simply not inclined to give him much credit for the empire that was built by his forefathers and then simply handed to him to run. Sorry, but that is not impressive to me, even if he did make some moves which turned out to be prescient however he has also made a sh$t-ton of moves that turned out to be horrendous and notoriously clashes with his father who still runs the families other cash cow, Cablevision.

Speaking of Cablevision, Hmmmm, I wonder why his family didn't give him _that_ part of the business to run?

When was MSG and the Knicks not a profitable business _after_ Cablevision acquired it? And it wasn't Dolan who acquired it but again, it was his father who then handed it to him.

As an aside: pretty much all NBA team values are going through the roof. Golden State was bought and then valued a year later several hundred million more than the sale price. Knicks being in one of the biggest markets, of course, are going to increase in value if teams like Golden State are also rising in value so rapidly. Dolan has literally nothing to do with the macroeconomics of any of this though.

They shouldn't fire the coach and they aren't making trades bc they can't. He's pretty much telling the team that the sky is blue and the grass is green.

Omg playa. I am not saying you are wrong in this instance but your conspiracy crap is old as f'. I guess every blind squirrel finds a nut though so maybe you are right for once.
