Knicks · Bargs Possibly Hurt (page 2)

I think Bargs can still be salvaged. Get the right coaching and off season work on his weaknesses. He clearly has the talent but he needs work around the basket and I'd have him work with a big man coach on rebounding and post work. I'd demand he get on a real strength and conditioning program.

He has shown enough that he is likely tradeable for someone with a different PF skillset that may fit better for this crappy team. Wouldnt be surprised to see him playing center for a west coast team this year

I agree, he also needs to be playing with more defensive minded players who talk on the court. You have to look at this team defensively as a whole. They switch too much and that leads to mis matches, and they don't communicate so their vulnerable to back door's. How many times have shump or Jr run smack dead into a pick and fall flat.

Defense is effort and communication. You can be a very good one on one defender but how long can you shut an individual player down in the NBA..

No that's your spin. If course he can't rebound or help defend.... why do we need to put him in spots where he is exposed? We need to rebound and defend so we should get guys that do that. If that means trade bargs so be it. But the dude should be placed I in a role he fits.

He needs to be in a role where playing bad basketball is OK. I think he found the right place.

Lol....

I'm just not gonna bash Bargs for playing like he's always played. He's never going to be Patrick Ewing so I'm not going to cry if he isn't.

What about the guys that were here last year that all suck now? Bargs is new to this. This group win 54 games. They missed a old kidd, injured sheed, and old man kurt Thomas that much?

Knickerbocker please!

Kidd, Novak, and Copeland were very important last year. The rest of the players here aged a year. You have to expect Felton, Melo, Chandler, etc. to be worse this year than last year

Novak and Copeland are seeing as much playing time as Kidd. Bargs would make All NBA D compared to those two stiffs. What's next, lamenting how much we missed out on paying Landry Fields 8 mil per?

Copeland could barely get off the bench and Novak was a shell of the player he was the year before.....Kidd was hot and cold cuz he was old as hell.

that's just pathetic to even mention them. don't mean to sound harsh towards you personally I'm just saying.....it's pathetic as a team that these guy needed all these hugs and kisses in the locker room to win the way they did.....

maybe we need to move the Knicks locker room to Rick's on 33rd btw 5th and 6th

WTF? Man GTFOH with the age excuse! Truth is these guys are in their primes and they should've hit the ground running playing the way they did in reg season last year. We kept the core of the team!!! Losing bench players isn't the reason this team flopped. Woody tried to change who the team was and that was the beginning of the downfall. Woody messed with Shump's head and let JR do whatever he wanted. Then the injuries piled up. Still it started with awful coaching from Woodson, who tried to reinvent the wheel and broke it.

Woodson aint my fav but.... Smith is just a complete ssshole but now one with a contract and Shumpert appears to be on his way to being one also. Like Melo as a talent and competitor but he's never been one to call out teammates, Chandler is closest we have to that role but even then he's emotionally erractic as is Felton. Lets face it, this org has some cleaning out to do.

I never said those guys were playing well this year but they were very important last year and the proof is in the pudding

The guys that are talked about being missed are Kidd, Thomas, Rasheed and Camby. I really think the Knicks saw Cope and Novak as very replaceable guys. Hardaway certainly fits in nicely as a three point specialist. If Shump or JR start hitting their shots at the rate they did last year I don't think those two are missed.

This group didnt win 54. last years group did, and it certainly is not the same, and yeah those guys were the heart, brains and leadership of the team.

This group actually have said on numerous instances they miss those guy....most notably melo himself.

But of course, you shouldn't bash Bargs for being what he is....but to say nothing is wrong with his game is silly.

I really think his bad game has rubbed off on everyone...they shouldnt be this bad, but he certainly a main reason why.

I don't buy that view at all. Bargs is the main reason why? That's a fan cop out. You can pull every player and give a reason why they let the team down. BAGrS BEING himself is not the reason. Metta is hurt, shump sucks, amares restrictions, Martin hurt, jr Smith and his bullshit, Woodsons lack of coaching. Tyson being hurt and overrated. Beno totally in lala land. Only players playing well is m melo and hardaway.... but let's blame the new guy because he looks like brian austin green
