I don't care about JR's or Chris's feelings. Their little backdoor deal hurt the Knicks by wasting a roster spot. This also proves the CAA connection and our propensity for risky deal making. This Chris Smith deal could have easily costed us some draft picks if the NBA thought we were using loopholes in the CBA.

I didn't think it was possible for JR to keep hitting new lows..Dude wake up!!
skeng @ 12/30/2013 4:43 PM
Yabba dabba DOOOOOOOO!
skeng @ 12/30/2013 4:45 PM
I wonder how JR will respond... Will he do the impossible and actually play worse?

He is the exact definition of a cancer. Not only did his brother make all his money but now JR smith is trying to get the Knicks in trouble with the NBA. Let's also not forget he basically threw a game by purposely not shooting.

fitzfarm @ 12/30/2013 5:02 PM
Maybe woody should start getting the other players on the team to give jr a swirly every time he gets out of line, and then make him stand in the corner with toilet water on his head. Maybe then he'll act like a adult.

Hey JR, hopefully we 'betray' you next!

Do you know what betrayal is? Partying in the playoffs rather than getting ready for the games. It's refusing to shoot in a winnable game just make some petty point.

smackeddog @ 12/30/2013 5:09 PM
I wish someone would betray me by paying my sister hundreds of thousands of dollars for doing nothing because she's my sister.
Cartman718 @ 12/30/2013 5:10 PM
yay so we waived chris smith, big effin deal. do we really think that is even close to being a bigger problem on this team?
smackeddog @ 12/30/2013 5:12 PM
Betrayal is getting suspended for smoking weed for multiple games when your team needs you

Betrayal is getting suspended in the playoffs

If he clears waivers and signs with Erie it would be the ultimate double dip.

I'm just happy the morons-in-charge realized - at least temporaily - that perhaps nepotism will not dig this team out of this frigin mess

yes as knicks fans, our limits are set at temporary happiness.... very temporary happiness.

Well, at least we now know JR and/or CAA does not indeed have compromising pic's of Dolan and donkey dressed in lingerie.

Dolan sticks by those folks that stick by him, doesn't matter how bad they are. Isiah and Woodson are cases in point. JR probably knows this and is going to milk Dolan for every $ he can get. I wouldn't be surprised if he signed another premature extension after 1 or 2 "ok" seasons.

Dolan is more concerned with loyalty than quality.

This Chris Smith "waive" however is simply a Woodson attempt to deflect from his own inept coaching. Like waiving Chris Smith is now going to make this team a contender!??

I don't know what's worse: this, or a meth addiction

Well thank you JR for confirming what we all thought.

Imagine if JR quit on the team after this?

gunsnewing @ 12/30/2013 6:22 PM
Can't make it up

This. At least with meth addiction you get short periods of gratification

gunsnewing @ 12/30/2013 6:25 PM
You know what? I would've been happier if we had waived JR
MS @ 12/30/2013 6:26 PM
Imagine?! The coach simply pointed out he was taking bad shots and spots where he should make a pass and he responded (like Kobe did back in the day) by being an asshole and passing up open shots.

Nevermind, his brother just got 435K for basically a few months, the fact that Knicks were stupid enough to agree to that packaged deal the playoffs is mind blowing.

At this point the damage was done, no reason to even cut him at this point.
