Knicks · Betrayal? wtf? (page 2)
I was vehemently against resigning this loser for this very reason. Even if it was for the league minimum
Not only did we sign him but we waisted a roster spot and half a million on his loser brother
But I am not sure there would be any takers.
If he could just learn to drive more and shoot less, he would be a pretty good player. But no getting through it seems.
There are younger, cheaper and smarter options available for less

The team has been nothing but great to him and he is acting this way? Once a fool always a fool and this fool must GO!Hardaway is already a better player. Play him. Dump Smith for anyone you can.
This is New York City. Enough of the unprofessional foolishness. The maturity level and intellect of all Knicks players should be held to a higher standard.
The due diligence on each and every player being considered to wear the NYK uniform must include their professionalism and work ethic. Talent is not enough. You wanna hang out? Go hang out someplace else.
Time to make da donuts.

Amen
I mean look at the past 15yrs since Dolan took over. Anucha, Isiah, Larry brown, the players now Smith-gate
JR and this organization are a perfect match.

I do worry that they rushed him back from surgery, had him only have one surgery instead of two (I believe that the better outcome is two surgeries for his injury) and that he needed another procedure over the summer. In regards to attitude issues, poor decision making, bad shot selection etc., that was all in the scouting report prior to his being drafted. He is a guy that gained a lot by having elite athleticism.JR and this organization are a perfect match.

Dolan is an immature fool. He does not like Shump because he showed loyalty to Lin. JR attacked Lin in the papers and was awarded a contract for little brother. Shump lost his mojo because he did not get the support from the team and it starts at the top.
NYKBocker wrote:I disagree. I can see where Lin may not have been resigned because Dolan reacted emotionally but I also think it could have just been a business move based on the poison pill third year. In regards to Shump or anyone else on the team being treated differently because of their relationship with Lin I think that idea is ridiculous. I think all of the trade rumors surrounding Shump impacted his play. I think his first and second surgeries have impacted his play. Some of the low character vets on the team may have impacted his play but I don't think anyone in management is looking to hurt guys on the team because they enjoyed playing with Jeremy Lin.CrushAlot wrote:sealy wrote:And here you had a legit SG prospect in Shump that the higher ups basically ruined.I don't know if Shump was ruined by the higher ups. Then you are giving Dolan too much credit. Dolan is the bane to the Knicks existence.
NYKBocker wrote:I am not saying he isn't and I am not even not saying he isn't petty. I just think that is too extreme. Lin had a part in his leaving as well. Two parties were involved in that transaction not teammates, and coaches. I think looking for reprecussions from management on teammates over a year later or even initially is wrong.CrushAlot wrote:NYKBocker wrote:I disagree. Also think you give Dolan too way too much credit, but am open to your point about surgeries impacting him. As far as the trade rumors, I think that only supports the argument of the higher ups ruining him.
Should he be more mentally tough? Yes, but having a coach ride you like a rook non-stop, management dangle you out there w/ no actual denial and watching a character like JR Smith start over you is not going to prop up most players' games.
His shot was starting to look real good too.

In regards to trade rumors and Woodson do you think that has anything to do with lin. I just don't see that.

No, I guess I would agree with you because it is just speculation.
Based on reading all the various Knicks things, it seemed to have to do more with the SL thing. So if Dolan reacts the way he did over that minor BS, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he held a grudge toward anyone pro-Lin.
Doesn't even matter because in the end, embarrassing is embarrassing.
Move the team to Seattle already.

Can we stop this nonsense about Lin's contract's "poison pill?"
Lin's third year is reportedly at $9.3M in 2014-15.
Bargnani will be making $12M in 2014-15. Does his contract have a "poison pill"? What will that cost the Knicks in luxury taxes? $50M?
Enough already. Either Lin is worth $10M next year or he isn't. These colorful little sound bites don't add anything to the conversation, and it is not Lin's contract alone that would be causing the Knicks to be over the cap. What is Amare's contract at this point? Poisonous? Nuclear? What will Carmelo's be once he re-ups?
