Knicks · Briggs is right - have to trade Chandler (page 1)

nyk4ever @ 1/7/2014 7:53 PM
and im not saying that we're a better team without him, because we're not. but with the way this team is constructed, he's not being utilized to his max by playing with this roster. if we can get a good young player and a draft pick for him (maybe the thunder would be interested) then i think we need to seriously look at a deal like that.

bargs plays well at the 5 too. you ask me who i'd rather bargs or chandler and im taking chandler everyday of the year, but i just don't think we're getting the most out of chandler by playing with these guys. time to cut the cord, we're not winning a championship this year anyway.

We have over a year to trade Tyson. I don't object to trading Tyson but trading Melo is a higher priority.

Tyson to okc makes a ton of sense. With Bynum available it makes even more sense.

We live with Bargs at the 5 the way we play. Getting the future asset is what counts. Knicks need to think about how they can improve going forward.

Lamb is my target guy too. If okc can give us Lamb in any Tyson deal then maybe we can really consider moving Melo

If we can do this, I would be happy.
Nalod @ 1/8/2014 8:53 AM
of course you make this move. OKC has no idea that chandler has health problems!!!! Only those in the mecca know!

Yeah, it's selling low right now

Thing is our leadership believes this group can turn it around. The recent wins don't help. Kinda fools gold in my opinion

Winning the Atlantic with a 39-43 record will be looked at as a good season to these morons
nyk4ever @ 1/8/2014 11:15 AM
any deal in which we can get a good young player and a draft pick in a trade for chandler HAS to be looked at. of course, we're going to have to take back some salary, so obviously, expirings would be nice, as well.

here's a couple trade scenarios, that work under the cap.. add in draft picks or whatever to these trades as well.
1. thunder. chandler for perkins/roberson/lamb
2. lakers. chandler/felton for gasol(expiring)
3. jazz. chandler for jefferson(expiring)/trey burke

GustavBahler @ 1/8/2014 12:22 PM
As long as we don't take on someone else's long term garbage that's ok. Just wish Chandler would stay healthy long enough to move him for someone worthwhile. It never ends.

we'd have to finish out 27 & 20. That is .574 ball. We've seen the last couple games this group start to get healthy & in sync- but I don't see us playing that kind of ball over the remainder of the season.

I think we'd be lucky to play 500 the rest of the way.

Yeah. My guess is he is just drinking broth to get over his current illness and weight and muscle mass is leaving his body at a rapid rate as we speak.

Any deal would do. It's an exciting plan whichever route they would choose. Takes courage and for sight but we have neither. Sucks

As I said in another thread, does he take antibiotics? I had chronic upper respiratory infections when I was his age and antibiotics were the only thing that helped.

He needs to do more squats

Probably sitting at home, babying himself. It's amazing how often he gets sick. Wondering if he has young children in daycare. They catch something and pass if off to dad.

I don't know whats going on behind the scenes but it could be stress, it can contribute to these things being chronic. I don't know if thats the case here but Id still like to know if he is taking anything other than over the counter stuff. Whatever he's doing its not working.

StarksEwing1 @ 1/8/2014 5:56 PM
Tyson is one of my favorites BUT if a team is willing to overpay for him then pull the trigger. Same goes with melo. If we can get some good young pieces, draft picks and sallary cap relief it will be good fr the future

There's no chance Utah does that.

Right now, but the trade deadline is Feb 20 so there's plenty of time for Tyson to rehab his value for contenders. And even if he doesn't come back fully healthy before the deadline I still think there's a deal to be made with OKC. Perkins is so horrifically bad (he's easily the worst starter and probably the worst rotational player on just about every team over .500) that I have to believe that they would jump at the chance to improve there. A healthy Tyson brings OKC to whole other level and I think if they had him 2 years ago they probably would've won the title.

I haven't seen lamb play, but is he a big upgrade over Timmy Jr? I think he is quite a bit younger and already putting up great numbers. Not sure he is available but Tyson, is one hell of a player there. They probably would want Timmy Jr to replace his bench minutes. We have to sign Bynum then.

Maybe somehow get JR out of here in a deal!
