Exactly right. Why it is taking so long to happen is what is mind boggling. It's gotta make the others second guess and ultimately lose respect for the Coach regardless of how well liked JR may be among teammates.

Spot on. If THJ wasn't one of the best rookies in the league right now, Woodson might be able to make a case for JR getting all those minutes. Even if THJ wasn't playing well, you aren't doing your team or your own career any favors giving JR carte blanche. He doesn't deserve it.

From published reports, Mike Woodson has talked to JR about maturing as a man. It worked to a certain degree last season. This season, not so much. As it relates to production, the after-effects of knee surgery turned Smith into a one-trick pony on offense, where last season he got to the rack. Big difference.

As to ISO ball, given Melo is 1-20 in late and close, no, Melo not my choice. Real point of ISO ball of course is style of play - no pass, dribble to late in shot clock, no play, have someone go one on one. That's not a situation for these Knicks, that is their style of play. I believe its less productive, you may think differently.

Woodson was the D coach under MDA. Team played no D then, and, dont' do too much now. Not alot of great defenders on team, but dont' believe roster is excuse for long periods of game where little effort is apparen.

Knicks22 - agree. In retrospect, Mike Woodson seems like a miracle worker for squeezing a Sixth Man Award out of JR. After the ink dried on the contract, and the post op drugs kicked in, (Or wore off) the whole affair is a mess. Woodson only has minutes as incentive. Steve Mills needs to make a change so THJr can grow.

Like you, I despise isolation play. Never liked it. Why can't we run? Our guards are either too slow

It's like anything else. There is a time and a place for it. For example, if Ray can't do anything right and guys aren't hitting shots, Melo had to take over until they get their asses into gear. The thing that sucks is if the ball has been moving all day and guys are hitting shots but you stop that with the isos, we are f'ed.
