We should either trade for draft or sign more players who use the dribble to make plays. This is where the NBA is going--using the dribble to make plays. The better ballhandlers who can shoot run and pass--the better your team will be. You still need a big C for parts of the game but the other 4 guys need to be able to make plays with the dribble.

Our main scorers have that ability already. And everybody wants them gone...Melo and Jr smith. It really depends on the system we have. And right now we don't have an offensive identity. We also don't have the picks or trading chips. Beggers can't be choosers. We have to take what we can get right now....
Melo does nothing but dribble, he's perfect!
Young players who can attack the basket, hit outside shots- threats all around.
We have no one who can really break down a defense with the dribble, and our passing is too slow to cause open shots, and we have no good outside shooters.
We need true shooters. Not high volume guys. The teams that generally overachieve in today's game have role players who can shoot lights out at almost every position.
We need more players who move well without the ball, players who have a knack of being at the right place at the right time. THJ is showing some of that, but still has more work to do. Too much standing around watching the ball handler work. Not just when its Melo with the rock.
The two above posts from Gustav and Knixkik scream San Antonio Spurs to me; they are the perfect model.
Danny Green, Patty Mills, Marco Belinelli, Boris Diaw, Kawhi Leonard, Tiago Splitter and even Matt Bonner. That's why I wish a Neal for JR swap would real even though I doubt it is.
I know they have a 1st ballot HOF in Duncan and Ginobli and Parker may end up there too, but the role players on this team all play the right way and it just unbelievably impressive.
perfect NBA model:
Get a pair of top flight players.
Build your entire roster around their skill set.
Its really that simple
