Plz tell me why we don't have the pieces to play with the big boys.
What we need is the right coaching strategy for each game with correct player rotations.
Mike Woodson has to come to the fact it's up to him to know who plays best in each individual game calls for that particular players service.
Agreed. Yesterday was a big step
My guess is JR plays on Saturday and shoots us out of the game vs the sixers
I think Woodson needs an app that tells him when a player is cold, and should be taken out of the game.
When they miss a certain number of shots in a row, or their shooting percentage drops below a certain number, bench them.
Make some allowance for other stats. If they get a rebound or make an assist, they get a one minute reprieve. A steal and they earn 90 seconds.
When there are no knuckleheads left to go to on the bench, the app sends an email to the league and the opposing team, forfeiting the game.
our guards arent good enough, or consistent enough. When Felton is playing at a high level and we get some other scoring from the backcour yes.. we can certainly hang with the big boys, but how long does that happen?
Tyson being out has opened up the floor for Stat and Bargs but we need him healthy and patrolling the paint. Have to find a happy medium, won't be easy. Im very encouraged about this win against the Heat but I'm still worried about how the pieces fit.
We gave up almost all our picks and cap space for this roster. If you do that, you should demand at least a .700 team. Is this really what we should have mortgaged the future for?
we have the pieces- they are just old and ill fitting.

This is the essence of the issue with this roster. Although I would narrow it to PG play.
Get the point?

If Raymond Felton drops 14 assists a night we good.

we need to screen for character, not overpay for flawed players who can't mesh with others, and hire a coach who is not compromised from the get-go by ownership and management.
we are 13-22, beating the heat doesn't make this roster good... we are 13-22.. The nets have beat some quality teams of late and I still think that team is a mess right now.. no difference with this team that has a worse record than them...

then he would never be hired dk.. what you are saying is very true, but we don't do that. we overpay for flawed players who can't mesh with others, and we will hire a coach that is a puppet for ownership and management... it is the way this franchise does things... it is frustrating because you wonder how will that cycle ever end..

so when we are 13-22 you are what the record says you are. But if we win 54 games its lucky circumstances and a one-off. OK.. got it. You are truly consistent with your drivel
Look Yesterday was a great win but lets dial it down a little bit. We have a long way to go and a lot to prove. this team ahs the ability to beat good teams BUT they also have teh ability to get destroyed like they ahve been a lot this season.

Yup. One game at a time.

the positive I really walk away with is Amare. Last year his bench contributions were huge. 14ppg off the bench shooting 57% on a team with low % volume shooters is big. He's starting to show some good signs of being an impact guy again. Im not holding out for 25/8 over 35 minutes anymore, but if he can shoot 55% off the bench for 20+ minutes a night that can push the Knicks to another level.
If we could do somethig to upgrade and solidify the backcourt we could put a run together like we saw last year. Shump seems to be looking like we hoped as a rookie and maybe Felton can stay off the doughnuts long enough to give us a good 2nd half
Line of The Day
maybe Felton can stay off the doughnuts long enough to give us a good 2nd half
14 assists from Felton was a bakers dozen

Hate to be a pessimist, but that Felton shows up maybe 2-3 times a year. He'd be a top 10 PG if he played like that every night.

agreed. i really really hope i am wrong on my prediction that fat boy felton will show up in a week's time.
This roster needs to try to add Dunleavy.
