nah... Isles was actually witty. And he hated a team that won 25 games, not 50

this team didn't win 54 games.. that team is gone... kidd is coaching, so is rasheed... the sad thing is you think this team is a 50 win team... really?

oh wait.. are you saying the talent around Melo has been downgraded?

no what is being implied is that because of melo's decisions since february 2011 a crappy team where he can put up numbers is the end result.

it's the language: "has been downgraded" as though it happened without human agency. melo brought this situation upon himself, not on his own-- but he played a big part in what we are seeing today. and now he needs to be bailed out?!? well guess what melo-- offer to take 12-13 million a year on your next contract and that just might help the knicks finally.

Dude I think the only implication you can get from his post is that Sheed and Kidd were more instrumental to our success than anyone. All that other stuff is just how you feel (and him as well I guess).

In all of your plans Melo is needs to be noble and lose lots of money. He was supposed to stay in Denver (no way Ujiri doesn't move him at the deadline but I will play along) and take 25-30 mil less to play for the knicks. Now he is supposed to ignore a cba that was set up so that teams could keep their star players by paying them more then other teams can offer, take a third to half less than what he will probably get so that Steve Mills and Dolan can build around him. How do you think that works out? Fairy tales are nice but this can't be a real stance by anyone that pays bills and works.

so... MSG management screws up time and time again and your suggestion is that Melo take less money? Idiotic and not reality based. I would love to see your reaction when your boss says he fired half your team and replaced them with retards. But listen, if you were a good guy you will take a pay cut so your boss can fix his mistakes... thats about it right? Oh, and since they hired you it put the company over budget, so its actually a situation YOU created. Thanks for playing. I really wonder what planet some of you silly kids live on

No, but it's true reality for haters who are so self-centered that they can't bear to root for a team that doesn't match their vision of management and play ball "their" 'right' way. I'm sure these fables of "Of course I'd offer to make less for the good of the company" are terribly interesting but sound insanely stupid when you're talking about anyone walking away from 33.7 million dollars.

Ever notice how these same cadre of self-absorbed posters are the first to talk about how much money others should leave on the table for the love of a franchise they think suhucks?

These are probably the same guys who are always heading for the head the second they see the bill coming.

winning requires sacrifice. money off the court and selfishness on the court are what need to be sacrificed in order to win. he was overpaid the first time around with us. he is not quite there in terms of selfishness on the court so he needs someone to put him in his place like billups did once and kidd managed to do for 25-30 games last season.

if he wants to win in new york and become an immortal, a made man in new york, like frazier et. al., manning, simms, jeter this is what is required.

sacrifice takes balls. unfortunately his belong in a sunmaid box.

the knicks certainly do suck. melo is the centerpiece of a suckass team. putting up numbers on a suck team doesn't turn my crank one bit but if it makes you pop a chubby then good for you. no "think" necessary so far as knicks sucking. or what what part of 17-27 is not "sucking"?

it is fine to criticize but a little bit of fairness would be welcome ... critics mean that you can do good or bad, with some variance around the mean, some people doing more good than bad or the opposite. But no one only do bad or good exclusively ... except if you listen to them guys talk about Melo ... this is insane after a while to regurgitate the same empty arguments using derogatory nicknames towards someone at every occasion
