Gill was there two-guard. They had a bunch of scrubs at small forward, including Scotty Burrell and Johnny Newman. I was referring to LJs transition to three with the Knicks in my earlier post.
I would have drafted Oladipo. He was my number one pick. A backcourt of Irving/Oladipo would have been sick. I don't get this pick in large part because of the health issues. Don't believe Bennett was so good that those issues could be overlooked.
Bennett was a project from day one. Cavs should have picked someone who was ready to contribute sooner. Westbrook/Rose you never know how long an elite PG will last these days.

I think the kid you were describing is Dan Gilbert's kid who has some kind of disease. I don't know about the kid but Dan Gilbert is a certified douchebag in every respect. I heard the guy profited big-time of selling sub-prime loans, which would make him the scum of the earth in my book.

Can't agree with that one. They definitely need a two-guard and they may need a point guard as well if any of those Net rumors are true. Bennett was a beast at UNLV. The shoulder problems hampered his off-season conditioning and then the Cavs tried to make him a small forward, which probably required a level of conditioning he is not used to.

This isn't the original article I read but there are several articles online about QuickenLoans/Dan Gilbert and how they made their bones off of predatory lending. I got no way to criticize the sources but I doubt a man of Gilbert's means would allow for people to write slander about him/his company unless it were actually true.

That is the definition of "preditory lending". Many institution have paid hundreds of millions in penaties.
I in now way defended him as being a great guy. He is kind of slimy but not distinguised by any more slime than many of his co-owners.

It wasn't an either/or thing. There were definitely predatory loan practices and there were definitely idiots taking on dumb loans. In fact, one begets the other and vice versa. Of course, if you're trying to push a political agenda you choose one and and run with it as the only possible cause for a giant worldwide near economic depression. You do realize that it's a proven fact that _some_ of the fly by night lenders and even some huge banks straight up LIED and used blatant trickery about the terms when giving out and underwriting loans? They've even been fined and happily paid their fines since they made so much money the fines were a drop in the bucket.
And before you accuse me of being some lib-tard read my post above where I state that another facet of the problem was indubitably idiots taking out dumb loans and overleveraging their assets. But then again that isn't so simple either because a lot of people who refinanced during the bubble did so believing their property was worth way more than it actually was. So all the shenanigans inflated values and a lot of people who intially took out reasonable and proper loans years before got screwed as well.
Nothing is black and white.
