Knicks · Tim Hardaway (page 3)

He already is a pretty good finisher which is a promising sign, he gets A LOT of "and 1s" for a rookie.
nixluva @ 1/29/2014 2:57 AM
I just think THJ was doing what he was asked to do in college and I felt once he got in the NBA he would show more of his real talent level. So far that's been more and more evident as he's played. I felt there was too much made of THJ's supposed lack of ball handling. If you watched his games he often had to handle the ball and tho he wasn't driving a lot, he did have a decent enough handle. I never understood the doubts about his athletic ability and finishing ability tho. Just glad Woody really likes him and has given him a real role this year.

The kid is a real talent. This shump injury comes at the right time. Would nice to see this kid florish. If he played more we'd have a rookie of the year candidate. Kid is definitely a All rookie first Team candidate
Ira @ 1/29/2014 6:40 AM
Maybe he'll learn to do the crossover like his father.

I believe his Dad said something similar prior to the draft. Not sure where I saw it but I remember reading something to that effect. I was happy when we picked him and even more so now. He is going to be a great player for us.

Thjr should be in the starting lineup with shump out... Line up I wanna see the most is Tyler, stat, melo, thjr, ray
Everyone in that line up can score buckets fast with the exception of Felton.hopefully ray is gone at the trading deadline for Lowry, if the Knicks get Lowry the Knicks are title contenders

Really? Have you seen them play defense? They aren't going to win anything unless they drastically improve at the defensive end.

I agree but we are drastically improving our overall play, it has been vs the bobcats, lakers, celtics. We'll see how much we've improved vs the heat this weekend. But at the same time I'm excited to see thjr, and Tyler both I feel have all star written all over them.

You will see how far Tim JR has come when we face Miami, his daddy's team the second time around.
GustavBahler @ 1/29/2014 5:59 PM
Hardaway picked for the Rookie/Sophmore game. Way to go THJ.
BRIGGS @ 1/31/2014 12:25 AM
This guy is the new Ray Allen. remember ray was pretty athletic when he came into the league--so is Hardaway. The guy is a 23-25 point scorer in the making
BigRedDog @ 1/31/2014 1:29 AM
Hardaway Jr is going to score 50 in this league one day
Cartman718 @ 1/31/2014 1:34 AM
pedigree is something you cannot teach. how fitting would it be if this kid helped us defeat miami in the playoffs and one-upped ray allen. i mean this guy seems like he is for real and his focus actually matches melo's in the last few games.

Junior will only get better. One of the most intelligent players we have.

He is a quick study

earthmansurfer @ 1/31/2014 6:12 AM
Briggs and BigRedDog - AGREE!!!

We got something special on our hands and I'm Ecstatic I was wrong about him and Bullock.

Smart smart player with a great shot and super athleticism. LOTTO PICK in this years draft right there.

Things are falling into place. Bargs is out. Shump injury not good but gives Timmy time to shine. JR is healing up and showing it.

Excitement is back in the Garden. Can we get a really nice PG now? (No offense to Felton)

misterearl @ 1/31/2014 6:18 AM
The game is, and will always be, about buckets

ems - a quality point guard who can dribble and direct with evil intent.

Not the "head down ovr-dribbling, stop/ start wack defense, walk-a-thon" that is Felton's trademark.

Kyrie needs a change. New York and Uncle Drew are a perfect fit.

GustavBahler @ 1/31/2014 8:46 AM
Im pretty sure that everyone ahead of THJ is starting. Not bad! Should move up after last night.

http://www.nba.com/rookie-ladder/

According to his coach, Hardaway is ahead of the curve compared to other rookies. "I've said all along, Tim is ahead of the scale," Mike Woodson said recently. "He's not your typical rookie. He spent some time in college. His dad (former All-Star Tim Hardaway) obviously has done a hell of a job in coaching him a little bit over the years and working with him on his game." It's true, though, and clear to an observer like myself, that there is something unique about Hardaway's composure so far. -- Jan. 29
H1AND1 @ 1/31/2014 8:53 AM
He was certainly awesome last night. It'll be sad when we trade him for a gimpy Rondo.

Sorry to be a downer, just bracing myself for heartbreak. You know every team in the league is calling Mills offering their trash for him right now hoping to bamboozle us....

fishmike @ 1/31/2014 9:04 AM
he's got such a high IQ and great skill set to go with it. Loved how he was pushing the ball up court, quickly noticed nobody was guarding him and pulled up for a wide open 3 with perfect form. It was so silky smooth... reminded me of H20
jrodmc @ 1/31/2014 9:15 AM
wow, Tim Hardaway Jr, the new Shump.

Remember, just short months ago, when everyone was worried we were trading Shump and all our 2027 first rounders for Iggy or Rudy Gay?
