Walt Clyde Frazier? Isaiah Thomas?
different breed, those guys defended relentlessly, and they were good leaders with high character, and scoring when they had to
I can't speak of Westbrook having high character but he is a good man defender thanks to his athletic ability (but dumb as rocks when it comes to help defense).
it a pretty fair deal, westbrook is what we need and chandler is what they need both in a bad way... perkins sucks so dose felton. and we sweeten the deal by adding a back up sf/sg in shump who i think could blossom in a small market like okc... shump isn't going to do anything here esp with thjr ready to take over. reggie jackson plays better with durant then westbrook dose RJ is their starter even if westbrook comes back with them and i don't think he'll be ok with a back up roll.. we don't need chandler we already have someone with better potential and has a actual offensive game unlike chandler in tyler, perkins like felton would be a back up on any other team.. both teams get better in holes that need to be filled.... our line up would be westbrook, thjr, smith, melo, tyler or westbrook, thjr, melo, amare, tyler or westbrook,jr,melo,martin,tyler.... theirs would be jackson,spols,durant,ibaka,chandler....... or they could even start shump at the 2 as well.... both teams i think would approve this trade... unless we are so stupid to think we need chandler

Sam Presti is a virtual bball genius. What makes you think that this deal would be made and that we'd be getting the better end of it?
knicks1248 wrote:westbrook shoots too much, you will never win a championship with a scoring pg, NEVER...it's never happen, and never will
and he may be damaged goods with three more max contract years. I'd reluctantly make this gamble since he's only on a small max contract (around $16m per). If it was in the $23 mil area, I wouldn't.
next in order is to fire woodson aka mr potato head and hire a coach that will play the best players and not vets just because there vets.... again free tyler he is a all star in the making
On second thought, why would they do this unless his body is demolished?
Bonn1997 wrote:On second thought, why would they do this unless his body is demolished?
Exactly. Presti's mama ain't raise no fool, so this deal would be very suspicious. I genuinely think that Westbrook is this generation's Steve Francis, that is even more bullheaded.

scott brooks is one of the worst coaches in the league - ive continually watched this guy make complete head-scratching coaching decisions in the playoffs year after year. woodson is awful and id rather have him over brooks.

I don't think much of Brooks, one way or the other, but the idea of Mike Woodson being better than anyone seems like blasphemy to me, lol. I honestly think that with Vinny Del Negro no longer a coach, Mike Brown and Mike Woodson are tied for the worst head coaches of all-time (in my mind). I'd prefer anyone over those 3.
This will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever happen.

If Presti is a genius he should see that Westbrook is fools gold, no?
All kidding aside, I agree if Presti were to make this deal the Knicks better look at those x-rays CLOSELY. LOL.
And I see your point about Westbrook being the next Steve Francis. Fair enough. I dont agree but its something we'll have to wait and see how it plays out over his career.

So you would turn down this trade if you were the Knicks? Really?
just getting talent isn't the trick..I don't think he's a good fit with KD and he certainly wont make anybody better on this team team
I disagree here. I think besides what Westbrook does for your team athletically, I think he contributes more from a competitive aspect. This guy busts it all the time. Any comparison to Steve Fracis is a joke. BTW there is no way this trade will happen. Knicks getting this lucky? no way

Two different kind of responses when I mentioned the same information.
People poo pooed on the idea, but in this thread people love the ideal. ROFL @ the posters here.

To be fair I accused the author of smoking crack in both threads
OKC learned in last year's playoffs that they need Westbrook to get through the West. They're not going to trade him or their draft picks for Chandler no matter how much Perkins sucks.

Consider Presti's leverage at the moment. What can he get for a guy that has sustained two serious leg injuries in less than a year, whose entire game is predicated around his athleticism? Derrick Rose can at least hit the 3 ball but what is Westbrook going to be able to do without his physical gifts? Dudes a dud in the waiting, IMO. We'll have to agree to disagree.

Why is the comparison to Steve Francis a joke? I happen to think that it is very appropriate. With the Rockets, he average 19ppg, 6rpg and 6apg without the benefit of playing with a Kevin Durant type player (for the record Westbrook's career averages are 20ppg, 5rpg and 7apg). I actually think that Francis is the better player of the two because he did everything Westbrook could and also had the 3 ball earlier in his career.
