I came of age with the NYMets as my sports heroes. The soundtrack for my broadcast education was provided by a class individual who was always human in his imperfection. Ralph Kiner has his corner in the sky.

This one hurts.

An outstanding player, a ladies man, a tough guy, a straight shooter.

Spent many years listening to guys like Ralph, Lindsey Nelson and Bob Murphy call ball-games.

Yes - that guy had a life most would dream of.

Rest in peace Ralph Kiner. Been a while since I heard that name, great memories.

Can't believe it, it always seemed like he would be around forever. Read a great idea online that the Mets should rename one of the corner outfield spots "Kiner's Korner".

Yeah, it's tough. Basically grew up watching Kiner do Mets games. The two are synonymous as far as I'm concerned. Huge loss.

He's before my time but I am aware that he holds a very large and respected place in Mets history. I think an idea like that would be nice, add some character to a stadium filled with advertisements and dodgers memorabilia.
