Hawes to Clev for 2 2nd rnd picks. Done
Funny when the faithful get all pissed about rumors not coming true..........
Jimmer for a 2nd rounder? We got any? They want a high second or a low.
Picks are like gold now. They are big assets that teams want.
We got Capspace in 2015. Yeah!!!!
Great move for the cavs. They had to be 6.5 mil under the cap to absorb Hawes without trading a player.

Knicks couldn't make that deal if they had those picks still. Cavs had to be way under the cap to get Hawes. Espn reporting that Philly needs to take on 11 mil in salary because they are so far below the cap.
http://nba.si.com/2014/02/18/nba-trade-d...NEW YORK KNICKS
Why they will make a move: They’re the Knicks. New York has managed to play more respectable basketball of late, but don’t expect that to appease one of the most panicky front offices in the league. Point guards are reportedly the team’s opiate of choice, with players such as Kyle Lowry and Jeff Teague being linked to the Knicks. Any talent of that caliber would take a significant trade package to pry loose, but we should know better than to doubt New York’s ability to muster roster action beyond reason. Why they won’t: Past moves have left New York’s cupboard a bit bare. Due to lingering costs of the deals to acquire Carmelo Anthony and Andrea Bargnani, the Knicks are unable to trade any of its own first or second round picks prior to 2018. The only draft pick the Knicks still have in their possession is a 2014 second rounder that originally belonged to Sacramento, though it bears such heavy protection that it almost certainly will not be conveyed.
MAHONEY: Five trades we want to see before the deadline
That leaves the roster pieces on-hand as the sole components of a potential trade, of which only a handful are even reasonably attractive trade pieces. Anthony is reportedly off the table. Tyson Chandler would likely draw some interest, should the Knicks completely sell out any notion of playing defense through 2015. Otherwise, you’re looking at some combination of Raymond Felton (who isn’t particularly attractive trade bait), Tim Hardaway Jr. (perhaps New York’s only long-term prospect), Iman Shumpert (who has been brutal on both ends of the floor), and Beno Udrih (a merely passable player on a minimum salary) as the basis of a potential trade package. Best of luck in constructing a sensible and legal deal for a quality player with that bunch, let alone Rondo.
Now that Denver has moved miller it sounds like beno for Hamilton is a done deal.
I told ya , nobody wants to help DOLANS team, great move by the former Knicks GM.
Miller will be a good mentor to Wall and Beal.

Huh? Knicks weren't trying to get miller. Knick trade with Denver is supposed to be going through now.
What about Shump to OKC for a 1st round pick? I heard this depends on Shumps MRI....Anybody else have more information on this?

that would be awesome for us because Houston would probably look to dump Lin at a reasonable price

brutal... it was discussed yesterday and is off now because of the knee

I thought I read it depends on his MCL, if it's torn or just sprained? Anything official come out on Shumps knee status?
Boston wants Parsons so I doubt the deal goes through unless they offer a 1st rounder. Parsons is Howard's best friend and the reason Howard is in Houston plus the guy avg 50% and 40% from 3 with the best contract in the league.
Looks like we got sideswiped by Houston again
Shumps mcl is sprained according to Berger.
I don't know what is their source or just posters wishful thinking but Rockets forum saying Lin to NY is imminent. Claiming Shump and THJr are coming their way. I love Lin but I can't lose both guys. One of them OK but not both.

On the Iman Shumpert front, I'm told the Knicks guard's sprained MCL is "very mild."
