Which PG haven't we had interest in?
You know that if he is traded to the Knicks now they get the cap benefit that the rockets got being under the cap. He is owed 15 mil nut only 8 mil goes on the Knicks cap. Also, lin asik expire 2015. This would be a good move if the Knicks can rid themselves of Tyson.
LOLOLOLOLOLOL
PSSSHHHAAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA
that would be great lin could really help this team…. also allows us to dump chandler. who would start next to dwight. lin would be back to shocking the garden and making a push for the playoffs. also a backcourt of lin and thjr would be deadly with melo amare and tyler

What LIN makes next year has absolutely no effect on the cap after 2015. He is right there with Amare and Bargnani only a lot more useful and productive

Yeah but had the Knicks matched his offer he would have counted as 15 mil on their cap and pushed theme to a new threshold of cap penalties that were estimated as high as 65 mil. Lin and asik both count for the average of their salary because Houston was under the cap when they were signed. I believe lin's cap hold is locked in at 8 mil. So while he is owed another 7 mil next year that portion does not go against the Knicks cap. If the Knicks can get lin asik for the cap holds of Tyson and another player they won't take on more cap but they will have to pay an extra 14 mil. It just won't be taxed.
This trade will not happen. So why go into details.
I can't imagine Lin
wanting to return to the Knicks mess but he does, he'll be the most functional player on the team. (No, no, he's not as good as Anthony but if the Knicks win with Lin at PG it will because he's running the team.)
What a weird situation.

Haven't forgotten that when he left Dolan ordered that Lin return all his Knicks Jersey's and gear- cold and petty!
can he nix the trade? How funny would it be if we tried to trade for him and he vetoed it. LMAO... what I would give to be a fly on the wall in Dolan's office when that goes downn

I think this is true. I remember reading something to this effect.

It is, there was a woe-is-me interview with Lin ages ago, in which he said he had to give all his stuff back! Dolan is such an idiot...
If we could just swing a three team deal that also gets us:
Gallo
Moz
Mayor
and 4 1st rounders (I don't care what year)
We could suhuck and still complain, but it sure would possibly short circuit half the posts in here...

No player other than LBJ or Durant is worth so many assets + cap space. I hate to say this but Carmelo is not those guys---Durant by himself without Westbrook with young role players has the best record in the NBA. Carmelo is not better than a team of good players--weve had normal injuries like any other team--we just sck.
We'll probably trade for him in the off-season - after we missed out on the two cheap $5 mil seasons and only get the "poison pill" $15 mil one.
it would be comical if Lin came back to save the Knicks - twice
