My post was ment to be ridiculous because that's how I feel about it.

If this was the 80s it would be an uproar. I brought up all those examples because the world is more excepting of gay people now. They are everywhere. Coming out is played out. It's corny to hear guys declaring it and acting like activist.

Yes people still hate and make fun of gays. It's a sexual lifestyle. There's alot of moral things associated with it. I don't agree with it but I respect people and that's what people need to do.

Collins is a bum. He's always been a bum. He's going to retire very sin and I actually thought he retired already. So this story is a Lame excuse for him to make money after the game.

That football player is another one trying to capitaize on his sexuality to secure his space in the nfl and beyond, if he even makes a team. If he doesn't what is he going to do cry discrimination? Please.

My whole thing is without getting pulled into a stupid debate is if you are gay so what so asked. Play good and be paused. Play bad you suck! Who cares who you go home to at night.

Seems like no matter how many times you say you don't care, you keep bringing it up.

And playa keeps making the most asinine examples.....

The thing is, Eny, that alot of players/GMs or whatever might care about who he goes home to/with. Heck some whole STATES might even care about that.

In Sams case, how would you go about informing the teams? A private letter? News of his sexuality would probably still leak and his coming out would not be on his own terms anymore or he could come off as embarrassed by his sexuality.

As for Playa, you say you're not a homophobe, bigot etc., but you compare homosexuality to the downfall of civilizations? Or is it the acceptance of free sexuality that is the seed of the world's corruption and end?

I would say this I'm not knocking the guy for trying to make a living, but to use the MEDIA for special interest groups is getting ridiculous. Twin is at the end of his career , he will only make more money being a spokesperson with potential endorsements for the agenda of trying to persuade a nation to approve of his lifestyle after going to work.

How come people think being in disagreement is being labeled as ignorance?

I bet he walks in the showers when others are in there with his head down because he's doesn't want anybody to think he's looking at them.

Twin mention he's comfortable now that he came out 10 months ago, but does he know how many people or players , reporters and coaches he's making feel uncomfortable as they are trying to figure out what they can say and not say by being around him in locker rooms ?

No need to share your sexual preference with the media to get a job in America, unless you want to spread your agenda to be approved by the masses.

is it ok for politicians trying for the top job in the country to declare that they are family men or women married with X amount of children with strong family values etc etc so that people vote for them? please answer in yes or no only. otherwise you are evading.

Politician lie alot so you don't have to vote at all if you choose not to.

The Nets just signed Jason Collins for publicity. To be part of history. It's a PR stunt.

Homosexuality is more acceptable today. There are successful, rich and powerful homosexuals everywhere now. There are Homosexual business owners, CEO's, Managers etc.

They hold high positions in the Media and Entertainment industries and almost every industry out there. If you go on the internet and switch on the TV and you'll see shows and commercials spreading homosexuality. Even subtle ones.

Guys are wearing more pink, tights, extra tight jeans and clothes and carrying man purses. Today's generation have been brain washed. They don't know any better. Sad thing is some of the older crowd have brainwashed too because of a close friend or relative is a homosexual.

my question was a yes or no question.

Watched a little of his press conference. Must have been like 10 times he had to say "My focus is on basketball" in response to questions about his sexuality.

You can't make a press conference about i like men and by the way I play football and I'm gay, and then in a pro football combine press conference and expect to field questions about how to make tres leches cake.

Football evaluator guru Bill Polian says Michael Sams is mediocre 5TH,6TH OR 7TH RD draft pick.

Your post reads like something out of a South Park episode. Utter nonsense.

I hope that you can understand how contradictory it is for you to claim not to be homophobic or ignorant while arguing that Jason Collins is part of an agenda conspiring to brainwash American men into wearing pink tights.

Even if you are correct and his statements to the media are a part of some agenda, the only goals of that agenda are openness, tolerance and acceptance.

Yes, homosexuality is more acceptable today. If you are not homophobic, tell me why you say it as if it were a bad thing.

Who is Michael Sams?

I've heard of Michael Jordan
Michael Jackson
Micael Bolton
Michael Moore
Michael Cera
Michael Bluth
Michael Doleac
Michael Myers
Even a gay football player named Michael Sam
But I've never heard of this Michael Sams character playa keeps bringing up...

Nets owner didn't want Big Baby Davis, he wanted to get brownie points with the NBA league office.

Question is will Collins aka "TWIN' be on a NBA roster after the 10 day contract ?????

Dude bombed in the Combine. Is it because he is gay?

I'm skeptical about the motive of the Nets move and waiting to see if Jason remains on the team for rest of season let alone another 10 day contract.

Heard they signed him because they have 7 more back to back games left where they will sit out KG.

The signing, by the way, brought a rare official statement from NBA headquarters: “”Jason told us that his goal was to earn another contract with an NBA team,” commissioner Adam Silver said. “Today, I want to commend him on achieving his goal. I know everyone in the NBA family is excited for him and proud that our league fosters an inclusive and respectful environment.”

I've been looking for hours, and I can't find a single headline tying the preferences of heterosexuals in any sport (with a workout).

You also wont find mention of anyone trying out who is black or white or asian because nobody cares anymore.

This is pretty sad.

I'm making this known because it's not NORMAL to announce your sexual preference to the world just to get a job.

If Jarred Collins(his brother) worked out for the Nets tomorrow, would it have made headline news ?

Nobody has been denied employment (IF THEY CAN STILL PLAY WELL) for being a homosexual in the NBA or WNBA.

Nalod I've had you on ignore for months, why do you continue to post after I make a comment ?????? Are you trying to sway people from listening to me ?

I completely agree with you playa playa , it's almost a pity act. I work for a prestigious law firm, should they announce to the firm that they just hired a gay employee...

I want to welcome john doe to the firm he's GAY, and then everybody suppose to clap for him and pat him on the back..

Should he go to a interview hand them his resume and say, "I'm not really that qualified, but I'm Gay"..

Please explain to me why it's so important to announce your sexual preference to do a job that has nothing to do with sex

I think people lack intelligence when they can't distinguish the difference between ACCEPTANCE and APPROVAL.

Homosexuals have been in pro sports for years and have been accepted long before 2013-14 but that isn't enough, now we have to celebrate and approve of the lifestyle choice they make.

Is it possible to accept and not approve ?

Very true. Even in his prime, Collins brought very little to the table. Now his Jersey is the top selling Jersey at the NBA store in NYC. This has nothing to do with basketball.
