think about, gallo, shump, fields, ariza, frank, sweetny, chandler, those are just some i can think of off the top.
I don't expect THJ to ever be a decent defender, if that wasn't his thing in college and then it will never be his thing in the NBA..

I don't know about being a horrible defender in college but Doug Christie went from being a lousy defender in the pros to one of the best in the league. Credits JVG for inspiring him to be more committed to working on his defense.

another guy was Camby. Look at this rebounding before JVG and after. Dude became a straight up elite glass cleaner
